Interesting quest so far, but in the department of grinding and having to buy a key for the first level, along with acquiring 6 others, I'm getting raped from all the door repair charges(including the one in level 1, no fair), and trying to progress ... we'll see how long my patience lasts.

Was able to find the white sword and magical sword locations already though.

Well you must have gotten most of the DRCs out of the way, then, because I don't remember there being very many.   I'm surprised you found the Magic Sword so early, I didn't expect people to locate it before completing level 5.

If you're having trouble collecting the money for the key, bribe the Goriya for a hint.  His answer is in reference to that particular part of the dungeon and a clear-enemies item drop will draw attention to it.  All the other keys you need are hidden somewhere in the other two sections of the dungeon; you do not need any keys to acquire keys in Level 1.

Keep an eye open for push blocks and bomb walls!

Finally found Level 2 and picked up the Bracelet, but still on the search for heart pieces/containers for White Sword, and also looking for the arrow, and a boomerang would be nice.

I also found a treasure room in Level 2 which was empty, is that a glitch?

Getting my ass handed to me early on but enjoying the quest so far!

...That's odd.  Each treasure room in Level 2 (of which there are 4 obvious and 4 hidden) should contain an item for the player.  I bet it was one of the 'stationary fairy' treasure rooms (if you defeated a darknut to find it), though I don't know why it wouldn't appear.  It's listed as the special item in the quest file and I remember collecting it during my play-test.  ...Odd.  I'll look into this.

Arrow and Bow are both in the second dungeon; there are three ways into the room; the most painless involves a bomb.  You won't get the boomerang until near the end of Dungeon 3.

You won't be able to get any... well, actually that's not true.  It IS possible to sequence-break and get a free HC before you acquire the ladder, but in the game as intended you will not gain access to non-boss heart containers until after you beat Level 3, whereupon one will become available to you for each level you beat.  This pattern ends with Level 7 (inclusive).  You will understand what I mean when you go in search of Level 4.

Just finished Level 2 and picked up the White Sword, I feel a little more confident now, off to tackle Level 3 ... this quest is a great challenge so far and I really liked the two manhandlas.

At Level 5(those damn LOZ 2 creatures are rough) now with one of the prizes backtracking to search for more goodies.  I also decided to be courageous, I think I made the right choice.

Still overall all is solid and giving me a run for my money  :bounce:

Glad you're enjoying the quest so far!

How'd you like your journey to Level 5?  Also, have you found the Amulet Shop yet?

Finally, thank you for the bug report, it was very helpful.  Sometimes these things just slip through my fingers; I really thought I'd squashed them all!   :omg:

Decided to give this a whirl, and wow, loving the graphics.  Definitely has a late-NES feel to them.

Found the obvious entrance to Level 2 on the beach and found a key, but not sure what to do from there...

L2 is the Bomb dungeon.  Try bombing either the left or right wall in the entrance you chose (if it's the one I think you chose, try the left wall).  You'll probably want to do at least part of L1 first, though, to get a candle for dark rooms.  Otherwise, well... Link's poor feet!

Spoiler

To find L1, look in the former location of a potion shop.

Level 5 was somewhat of a ballbuster and I knew in the back of my head there was an alternative entrance, but finding the raft was a chore thanks to trying to memorize the correct route.   :omg:

I don't think I would of been able to make it through without the expensive buy.  I'm guessing the secret bomb bug wasn't gamebreaking hopefully ... I'm in Level 6 now after just getting the Wand and I'm thinking I need the Magical Boomerang to advance.

The two bugs you reported have been corrected and will help you with your grind, but are not game-breaking.  They have both been set to be rupee drops (the one was supposed to be all along, while the other was a gift for you because you hit all the DRC rooms).

Here's a hint for Level 6

Spoiler

I had to make Level 5 a puzzle-heavy dungeon to justify giving players that wonderful tool you found at the start of the dungeon!

Oh, I beat Level 1 already. :P  I just only found the entrance to Level 2 where the Heart Container was in the 1st quest, which I believe only has a key and a bomb upgrade option?

Just finished beating the game ... a pathetic 13 hours and 39 deaths later, but it was an amazing ride!  The final battle was awesome to say the least. I ended up with the Fire Boomerang, the Black Ring and about 13-14 hearts.

I haven't found anymore bugs in the game and look forward to a 6th quest if possible!  I can't remember the last time a custom quest had me enthralled as much as this one ... and I beat it in 2 days  :awesome:

Thanks again,

Nick

Nice job! If you can hold your own in CJC's 5th quest entry you should try out a few more. http://armageddongam...h-Quest-Contest

I don't know about a sixth... maybe down the line if we hold another contest but I want to move away from Nth quests for a while.

Glad you enjoyed the quest!  39 deaths is pretty reasonable, actually.  When I followed the 'courageous' route and got the Master Sword, it took me 30 tries to get through (and I know where everything is!).  Taking the path of power will lower your death count but you'll only be able to get the Magic Sword at the very end of the game; you end up leaning on that weapon from Level 4 for most of the quest.  I average about 16 deaths with a completely power-choice arsenal.

Okay, here's what you have to do in Level 2
