Avataro:
This one seems to be popular. I dunno, do people just like ice caves? Not saying I don't like the screen, I just expected it to be a closer race. Anyway, this is a decent screen, except for a few small things:
1. Indeed, Link looks cramped. There's very little walking space here.
2. The perspective looks funky in places where stalagmites overlap stuff.
3. The diangonal walls and diagonal cobwebs don't work quite so well the way they're being used. I also wouldn't put a torch that close to an inward corner (as in the upper right).
4. No enemies, nothing happening. Of course, I wouldn't want to fight enemies in these cramped quarters, but it'd be nice if Link were doing
something.
Molten Onyx:
Not much to say here. You recreated the look of an NES Castlevania almost exactly. Good job. I notice the subscreen uses a custom layout in addition to Castlevania graphics, too. Anybody who is excited by the idea of a side-scrolling Castlevania quest in ZC will like this screen. It's hard to rate it properly since your goal is different from your average Zelda quest, but you HAVE done a fine job so far. Good luck with those scripts.
Vargen:
A very solid screen that uses standard DoR tiles (with the exception of new dirt). Good job. I appreciate properly done mountains and forests, so I voted for this one. However, it too lacks enemies or anything going on which could be called "action." Also, I'd change the canopy shadows in the bottom right to be less square-ish. But otherwise, nice work.
