is it possible, now, with the newer builds, to make things like sword sprites bigger than 1 tile? (preferrably without scripting icon_razz.gif)

I scripted a spear that's 1x2 tiles.

You could use it as a sword that stabs?

aw... oh well. it would be useful, but i can't help but wonder...

why the heck did they put big sword tiles in the default sets in the newer builds? i mean if they're useless... i dont see any point in there being any kind of big swords made until the time comes.

and now that i think about it... i just know that gleeok's gonna come up with a sword that takes up half the screen, as soon as he can. i know it. (i can smell it)

and it will probably lay bombs too, when link slashes icon_lol.gif

They should totally put that function in ZQuest! Even in the early games like Link's Awakening had swords bigger than 1 tile! (or maybe it was oracle of ages?)

It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to script...

I don't know. Maybe after I finish scripting a 'Yes and No' function for messages, I'll make a long sword! icon_razz.gif

Hopefully making 'yes and no' functions for strings is possible... Hey Gleeok! Do you have a script like that already?

It was OoA/OoS, not LA.

And it really wouldn't be that hard to script, just a bit of LWeapon sprite manipulation.

I might even do it.

I've really got into making weapons recently, you should see the weapons array I've got going for Final Fantasy Adventure icon_slycool.gif

please, for the love of god, release that script as soon as possible. I'll really need it.

just one question about it:
does it only allow for two-answer questions? or is there a variable to edit that allows for more answers?


and joe, your script would be pretty nice too. i have no partucular use for it right now, because all of my swords are small, but if i find a need for it, ill bug the living mess out of you over it.

i never said i didnt want it... i said i didnt need it at the moment. im sure that's something that would be quite useful in the future, not only to me, but to everyone else too.

i mean yeah its your choice to work on it or not ... (but i would still really like to see it)


actually, if i can make a good dragon buster sprite, i can definately use it.

but thats not done yet. =(

okay. i'll try and draw up a sword to use with it right now. i'll even post them here if i can figure out how to shrink my screenshots from ZQ.

Crop them in paint?

It'd be useful to have something to work with admitedly.
Make sure to sort out some slashing tiles too.

more on the way though. actually, if you wanted, you could make the slash and stuff, just flip everything and all that. same with the upward stabbing tiles.

Yah, those sprites are probably enough to make the script with.
