Well, since my computer still hasn't been fixed and I have the need for some type of Zelda in Game Maker, I decided to create an engine similar to and better than A Link to the Past. Not better as in it dominates the old, but better as in more things.

That is definitely cool. Have you ever thought of why there were only two item buttons though? I mean, why Z and X alone? Couldn't we, theoretically, have as many as we'd like in a game? Know what I mean?

If I were you I would stick to gm6 registered until they add something major to gmaker. Gamemaker 7 just doesn't seem like it's worth it, because they added virtually no neccessary new features and now all the games that you make are owned by the new company.

But I'll have to check this engine out, anyway. Looks pretty sweet.

EDIT: Alright, this is pretty awesome. One of the best Zelda engines out there. The collisions/movement is well made, and you implemented everything very well. The only room for improvement you have here is that when he jumps off the cliff, it's really slow. Like, falling would usually be faster. Also, the bombs explode a little too fast. Otherwise, this is great.

(I also noticed you haven't implemented zelda-like transisions, but I'm guessing you would get around to it eventually and I didn't need to tell you about it.

The main thing as that GM7 works on all new OSsses. (I sat there trying to work that out). It does actually fix a couple of bugs as well - though there are very few in GM in general.
That's good work Brooks. What happens if it ends up better than ZC? We'll have to rename this site PureDLBrooksCoolZeldaEngine!

Ehh, really don't like the Magic Meter or the Hearts... also, not very ALttPish to have the sword able to be replaced as a button.

Not bad, but sound is a little...loud. I can fix that myself, though.

Not to complain, but rescaling to actual size would be nice. Fullscreen looks ridiculous to me.
