With any luck, the DoR tileset will be out within a couple months, but these custom tiles have been in demand so I'm releasing them a bit early. I made them because I felt ZC needed a new type of lava.

This lava is the "crusted and flaming" type. I got the idea for these tiles from Alundra, a Zelda-like game on the Playstation 1. However, they are NOT rips; I drew them by hand.

There are many ways to use these tiles. Some of you may discover that you don't need all of them. So design away, and see what you come up with.

** NOTE: This is intended to be stagnant magma. Even in Alundra, there was no flowing lava. Hence, I recommend that you not use lava "waterfalls" with these tiles. They'll look better without them.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Anim Frames = 4
Anim Speed = 8

Palette: uses standard dungeon CSet 4 from the currently unreleased DoR tileset, hence you'll have to rip the palette to use these.


OTHER STUFF:

Use Horizontal and Vertical Flip to make extra "edge" and "corner" combos as needed. The preview shot shows how your combo list will probably look. You'll need a "walkable" version as well if you want to have bridges over lava.

The tiny tile labeled "corner" is supposed to be placed on layer 1 or 2. It is meant to give you more freedom with inward corners. Screenshot 3 shows where to place them.

And remember: this is Zelda, not Super Mario. Even LttP's Dark World didn't use lava as a replacement for water. In Zelda, lava kills grass, burns trees, and melts just about everything else.
