Fates Divided

Description:
This song is a massive medley with a storytelling twist; Fates Divided is an audio retelling of the entire story behind Dark Corona as a whole, where each song in the work--as well as the song's placement--is representative of characters or events in the tale. Rather than ruin the experience by telling you the things I'm attempting to convey, I'm going to leave it to your imagination; this story is what you make of the things you hear.

This thing has been in the works since 2011, with progress being particularly slow; I would do some work, then take a break from it, then come back and listen to what I had done so far, then fix some things or add some more, and repeat. I wanted this to be my biggest song ever, which was easy enough if I wanted to just be sloppy about it, I could have just thrown things together at a whim much like I had on previous medleys, but no. I wanted Fates Divided to be my biggest, but I also wanted it to be some of my best, if not the best. I took my time--a lot of time, as you've probably noticed. I put a considerable amount of thought into my song choices and the transitions between them. I readjusted the instruments and their volume levels multiple times to rebalance everything each and every time I switched to a new soundfont. Because this song was made with a specific soundfont in mind, some parts might sound a little odd on anything else.

For those of you who want to hear it the way it plays on my laptop, I have an MP3 of it that can be found here.

I will admit that despite the song's length, I had even more that I wanted to add, but after going through an extended period in which I've simply had no motivation to do so, I've decided to clean up what I have and release it as-is. Should the motivation come back to me later, I'll pick up right where I left off to make it even bigger than it already is, but for now, consider this song completed.

With the exception of the part used for the introduction, everything in this medley is something you have heard before, assuming you've listened to most of what I've written and submitted to PureZC in the past. In many cases, each part will be recognizable for what it is, but there are some that sound very different from their original incarnations.

This is excellent!

There are so many familiar themes in this song. I definetly have to use this in my quest, as a credits or end scene music I'm thinking! Many of your midis are used in my quest!

Thank you alot for making this and keep them coming! And if you really decide to extend the medley even further, I will probably update my quest to add your updated midi in it.
