Fantastic turnout imo. I really like all of the entrees, a good cap off to 2024.

 

Jared - it's really nice! Looks cozy in a good way. I think if the beds were shifted up about 4 pixels such that they overlapped the north wall a bit, that would add some depth. I think the wardrobe looks a little awkward overlapping the window/drapes, I'd scoot it to the right. I would finally pose as an alternative detail to the sconces in the top-left and bottom-right, maybe a fireplace somewhere? Maybe in place of the left window?

 

Shane - excellent terrain usage, balance of detail, walkable space, and organic shapes. If I were voting, I'd vote here. I've got no critiques.

 

Twilight Knight - the BS walls work pretty well. I like the robot, a good room for a boss fight. Though I'm certain that robot won't turn back on if you grab that heart, right? ...Right?? Overall I'm pretty impressed that you made an open rectangular room interesting to look at. For critique, I would take a look at some of the outstanding work NoeL did for Linked Seasons on floor detailing and apply that to your floor.

Thought I might share further work on my entry here.

 

 

The screen is scripted that you shrink as you approach the door. This more closely captures my original intent as I wanted the pyramid to appear massive and imposing.

 

I can't explain the fish statue. It wouldn't even make sense in context, I promise.

I really like Twilight Knight's shot. The machine at the focal point of the shot is intriguing, and I like the overall construction and subtle details, like the debris in the water and the two-toned ground tiles. I would easily vote for their shot in a regular competition, probably even for Screenshot of the Month.

 

That said, I ended up voting for Cobgoblin this week. The sense of scale and depth in their shot is remarkable, aided by the use of multiple layers. The varied trees, hills, and rocky frame elements used in the foreground details add some organicness to the shot that contrasts the perfectly symmetric pyramid. The use of light and contrast is also very striking. (I enjoy the white highlights on the tree branches in particular.) It's potential Screenshot of the Year material, if you ask me. Awesome job!

 

Jared and Shane's shots are also well composed and look delightful to play.
