This is the first real demo for this quest. It goes down to floor 3. (If you manage to beat floor 3, you'll be taken to an empty floor 4 and have to manually exit the quest at that point.)

Download it here:

Features:
- 16 different scripted bosses (more to come)
- More or less 100 custom items (more to come)
- 3 floors (more to come)
- Lots of custom enemies. Every enemy in the quest has been tinkered with in some way, or is a new creation.

Basic rules:
Every floor has one treasure room and one boss room. Find your way to the boss room and beat the boss in order to access the next floor. Finding the floor's treasure is not strictly mandatory, but it is strongly recommended.
You have to clear a room before you can leave it. Clearing a room is also how you fill up your magic meter.
If you have bombs, consider looking for secret rooms. There are up to two secret rooms on every floor.
Fight defensively. If you want to be good at this quest, you have to fight in a different way than in your usual Zelda game. Use your beam as much as possible, and try to avoid trading damage with enemies.

A note on difficulty:
The quest is fairly challenging. Keep your fingers crossed that the game will give you good items... you can't win every run. In the final version there will be different characters to choose from after they've been unlocked, and some of them will work as an "easy mode" of sorts because they will start the quest with better equipment and stats.

Good luck! Enjoy!

Have you played Runescape before? There is a skill called "Dungeoneering" that sounds a lot like this game. Anyways, in Runescape, you explore dungeons like these but the theme doesn't change until you finish a certain amount of floors. You should do something like that. Allow me to clarify.

Floors 1-3: Forest theme

Floors 4-6: Water theme

Floors 7-9: Fire theme

etc, etc

What I'm saying is is that you should reuse the same theme for multiple floors to add more length to the game. It could be called padding, sure, but it is all the more rewarding when the player makes it to a new area.

Other than that, this sounds like a great game. Can't wait to play it.

No, I have yet to play Runescape.

I think there will be plenty of game time as it is, actually, since you'll have to beat the dungeon several times before it expands and then you'll have to do that again.

A full game would look something like this:

- The first version of the dungeon includes 6 floors. You have to beat that 10 times for a certain event to take place and for the dungeon to expand.

- The second version of the dungeon includes 8 floors. You, again, have to beat that 10 times.

- In the third version, once you beat floor 8, you can choose between two different versions of floor 9. You have to beat each of them 5 times to open their respective next floor.

- If you beat floor 10, you won.

I don't expect that every player will go that far, but considering you'll play a different game every time, I think you can enjoy the quest even if you  never intend to make it to the end.

I see what you mean now. Thank you for clarifying. Yet another reason to be excited for this game ~
