What absolutely kills me about this month's SotM competition is that I normally really like organized screenshots containing tons of details and some sort of symmetry. But Shane's image, even as humble as it is, is as ideal and pleasant a countryside image as they get.

NJF's details, grandiose design, and subtle use of color propel him to the top this month. I'd be interested to see how the shot looks if the white auras around the flames were instead tinted with the flames' colors. In comparison, Shane has a pretty but uninspired Firebird shot, coolgamer showcases a creative but drab underwater location, and Demonlink takes a close second with his beautiful use of symmetry amid a gloomy and believable rainy setting.

I voted for Demonlink this month for that crisp looking shot.

Shane. This is fantastic. Taking such an ordinary shot and location and doing this!

NFJ. Runner up. No criticism, it's just Shane made an ordinary screen so awesome, and yours seems very specialized so it's expected to show so unique and impressive.

Demonlink, third up. I really like the shot, but my original criticism stands, and I have a hard time understanding the shot as a result. The water would not be running on the high ground.

CG#, though competition. I do enjoy how you took on challenge. I like where it's going (and your updates were certainly an improvement), but this version is a bit bland - detail, colour. And it kinda just comes off as a maze screen with the 4 similar exits.

Really neat shots this month.

 

Shane - This is a magnificent screen. It has everything needed to look like a very beautiful screen which sets the setting incredibly well.

 

Coolgamer012345 - I like what you got going here, but it feels a bit "samey" if you get what I mean. You could improve this by adding more different coloured coral as well as adding more ocean objects to get the feel of a real ocean bed. Either way, it's pretty neat.

 

NJF - I'm really loving the Ocarina of Time approach here. The screen design is really awesome and there's plenty of nostalgia. Amazing job.

 

Demonlink - Another beautiful screen. I really love the attention to detail here and I honestly can't think of anything bad here.

 

All in all, I was torn between NJF, Demonlink and Shane, but in the end, I might have to vote for Shane since it visually seems to be the best looking out of them all.

I like Demonlink's shot the best. But I could imagine how much of an awkward conversation that must be, Ya know, with a big ass statue in the way. Lol
