Null voted to show my support for the godbeast that is Bagel's screenshot.

 

Also technically Russ's screen is from a quest we're working on together so yeah. I would have voted for Scootaloo otherwise. Demonlink's was pretty good too other than the trees in the top right which just don't look right in that palette.

Although, I'm not sure about the dirt on the right mountain. Maybe you could do what you did with the left mountain top (and basically everywhere else)? It'd look nicer IMO.

I totally didn't see the "wonder swirls" when I first looked at your post and forgot about Bagel's "submission" and my first thought was "wait what's faceplanting got to do with Russ' shot?"

The reason I did it that way is because you can't get up there, simple as that- you can get up on top of the left mountain top part, but not the right- and I feel like it'd be misleading otherwise.  It's meant to basically say, "Hey, this is the edge of the overworld."  This is one screen above the bottom right corner, actually.

I liked Russ' screenshot a lot, but I say a small layer error when it came to the crystal. The ground around it isn't the same as the grass, and it looks weird. Is it a mistake?

 

I voted for DemonLink. The tileset hybrid looks pretty nifty, actually.

Oh my, Demonlink. Those trees are meant for 8bit. I guess they are from this one DoR thingy I put out there, but you will have to fix those colors. Edit: And the big bushes aren't colored properly either. ._.

Despite some apparent coloring issues (especially the trees in the top-right), Demonlink's shot is the best of the week because of its vibrancy. Scootaloo's is a close second with clean colors and good use of Game Boy tiles, though Link looks strangely blue. Russ' is pretty enough but could probably use a little more variety.

The palette isn't designed to support the bushes. The grass greens and the tree greens are used on these (and on the tree tops as well) and these tiles require palettes take into account these tiles (as in: the grass greens and the tree greens need to blend properly).
