This seemed as good a forum as any, but if it's not, feel free to move this.

I ran across a program last year called Virtual MIDI Synth, which is a freeware software midi synthesizer that will allow you to use any soundfont you wish, regardless of what kind of sound card you have.  It's a hundred times easier to use than Timidity, which I could never get to work, no matter how much I swore at it.

About all you have to do is install it, and it'll give you the option to set your midi synth to its synthesizer, even in Vista/7/8.  Then you just add in whatever soundfont you want and go.  It'll load automatically when you run a program(like ZC) that uses the midi synthesizer.

Also, This is probably the best soundfont I've run into.  It works great with every ZC Quest I've played, and I don't load up ZC without it.  The best part is, it's completely free. :D
