What does Import and Export mean?

What is the difference between Import and Export?

I have a zgp and a qst file.

What is the difference between a zgp and a qst file?

I want to make quests with the tilesets, that i downloaded.

I would open a tileset file. But i have no idea, how to make files from them.

Make it to where i do not lose the tileset file itself. :(

-

I want to make quests with any of the tilesets that i use.

Without erasing the tileset.

Import lets you get exported things from a quest into your quest.

zgp files can be imported into qst files.

Others have told you this already but it's "Save As" that lets you make a file out of a tileset :D. Then you just delete all screens and maps and start making your own.

I want to make quests with any of the tilesets that i use.

Good luck! :)

Without erasing the tileset.

When you loose your tileset, you can just download it again.

  1. Import lets you pull in stuff from other tilesets (or quests that are unpassworded) like graphics, Subscreen and combos. Export is what you export from a tileset (again or unpassworded quest). It lets you export the same stuff that the import lets you import.
  2. refer to "1."
  3.  Is this even a question?
  4. A .zbg is graphics pack, It is like a tileset but it has to be imported and some stuff has to be set up still (like Link tiles) and the zgp only works in the ZC version it was exported from. A qst file is a tileset or quest that you can get by going to File->Open (F3) and it CAN be used in a newer ZC version.
  5. Open it by going to File->Open (F3) and then selecting it.
  6. Click save as File->Save As and then erase the giberishgoober stuff in the text then put in the name of your game in it. Don't put any " ( ) < > ? / + = ; or : in the name, It will not work correctly.
  7. Same as "6." .
  8. Same as "6." .
  9. Again refer to "6." .

Hope this helps.

I will also add in some info (the numbers don't correspond to their questions):

  1. To import: File -> Import. Choose whatever file type you want to import. To export: File -> Export. Choose whatever file type you want to export.
  2. A ZGP file is a Zelda Graphics Pack file. This is usually what tilesets use. To import a tileset (use it), go to File -> Import -> Graphics Pack. Then select the file. A QST file is a quest file. This is what actually contains the quests that you make in ZQuest. When first saving your own quest, you should enter the name of the file and add ".qst" to the end of it.
  3. If you have your own tileset because you made your own tiles or edited some, you can export them and then import them to other quests. To export the tiles, go to File -> Export -> Graphics Pack. Then choose the file location and add ".zpg" to the end of the name you choose. Then import them into other quests using the method in 2.

Hope this helps you! :D

Isn't a ZPG just a QST file in the end? I think that the only difference is that it does not save music datum; is that not correct?

It does not set up he link tiles for you and it only works in the ZC version created in.

The ZGP contains the graphics. When you import that onto the QST, then that quest file contains it forever (the tileset). So, technically, no, but it does become one with the quest file after you import the ZGP. :)

Send me your quest and we'll see how "forever" that will be. >;)

If you want to ask about one specific quest you're playing, go search for a help topic for it, or else make a new help topic (call the topic "Trials of the Gods") in the custom quest discussion & help forum.

I can't really help you with that question as I've never played it, so...

What I said up there ^^^^
