It amuses me that I knew about this quest for at least a year before discovering the Randomizer romhack. Anyway...
For those of you First Quest junkies or anyone who just really likes old-school Zelda, I highly recommend playing this. Clocking in at 54 standard dungeons plus a few extra goodies, this quest will last about 25-30 hours for a decent Zelda player, if you're lucky enough to find the Lens early on! Which brings me to my biggest problem with this quest: It's a very old-school experience and it's not really built for the kinds of people who like a straightforward Zelda experience. Most of the dungeons are hidden behind bombable walls and burnable bushes (or worse, Whistle stairs), which makes them hard to find and keep track of even with the overworld map. You practically need to write the locations of things down when you find them, and some of the later dungeons are needlessly convoluted layout-wise and likewise require mapping efforts. (I'm looking at you, EX1-9 and EX2-9!) That being said, I love how much content this quest has to offer. It's always nice to discover a new item and wonder what the heck it does, and whether you're blitzing through the game or going for 103% like I did, looting dungeons is really its own reward.
The dungeon music is varied enough to never really grate on you, unless you really dislike one of the tunes you're presented with, in which case whatever I guess. And the addition of several ZC2.5 and custom enemies shakes up the usual experience just enough to be interesting. I personally found myself switching between items very frequently while navigating the dungeons, as I didn't get the higher-tier swords until late in the game. (In fact, the final sword was the very last item I found aside from the reward for 103% completion! Talk about obscure!)
Viewing the quest as a whole, I highly recommend this to anyone who has the patience and mental agility for a Zelda-themed collect-a-thon and I've got high expectations for the later Randomizers!

It looks like a simple remake of the 1st quest, but there is a lot more to see. A LOT more. And you can't be sure how it will play out each time you play.
