TLoZ: Majora's Mask 2D

Demo 1 (2.futureB48)

(4.94 MB)
Genre: Scripted Added: 14 Aug 2018 Downloads: 23 Rating[?]: Rating: 3.5/5 (1 rating)

First demo! Includes:
  • All 4 main forms
  • All their abilities, except for Zora's Boomerangs
  • Bow & all arrows
  • Ocarina & all songs, though only Time, Double Time, Inverted Time, and Storms do anything but sound nice at the moment.
  • Bombchus
  • Throwable bombs
  • Powder Kegs
  • Lens of Truth
  • Hookshot
  • Magic Beans
  • Deku Nuts
  • Fully filled out Key Item menu, save for the Remains of the bosses.
  • You begin with the Razor Sword. Yes, the one that breaks after 100 uses. It even breaks like it is supposed to! After it breaks you still have the Kokiri Sword. (Not the final sprites for either of these).
  • Something happens if time runs out. That would be 6:00AM on Day 3. The Song of Double Time (>>AAVV) will skip 12 hours at a time, though it will only take you as far as 6PM on Day 3. (Which is 12 hours before 6AM, because Majora's Mask time! An hour is a minute, so that's only 12 minutes to wait).
  • Cheat codes are 1, 2, 3, and 4 if you want to mess around. You can even change your inventory, though most things you could spawn in won't do anything.
  • Clock Tower Main Room
    • Full of red octoroks with 100hp (punching bags for your weapons) as well as infinite ammo refills and a respawning clock if you don't like enemies hitting you.
    • Warp to a side room
    • Exit to an outdoor area
  • Clock Tower side room
    • Stone Tablets that can be read by standing below them and pressing A. You should read them, starting with the far left one. Trust me.
  • Outdoor area
    • Full of things to test the special mechanics, including some water, a Deku Flower, some soft soil for magic bean planting, some Ramps for Goron Rolling, some ledges for jumping, and a portal back to the Clock Tower main room located in the south-east. Try out all the stuff! This stuff wasn't easy to script, believe me!

There's definitely a lot of stuff packed in here, and I can tell you put a lot of time into this. As it is, I can tell it is far from finished, currently. This has a lot of potential though, if nothing else as a learning experience.

The scripted stuff is a good start, but will need some refinement here and there. I would say that the screen design leaves a bit to be desired too, but I can tell this is probably your first project, so just have fun making whatever, and you will keep getting better.

I gave the demo a 4, cause I really do think it is a great start to something. Good luck with this, and I am curious to see how this shapes up. :)

The demo doesn't even load and it keeps telling me in the quest selection window that its invalid. I also tried this on two different computers and got the same results. Its clearly a bug so just thought I bring it up.
