Link once again has to find the Triforce and save Zelda. Ganon, determined not to be as easily defeated as he was in the past, has dedicated the last few years to increasing his knowledge of magic. The result - four elemental locks that he will use to prevent Link from once again rescuing Zelda.
This quest will have eight levels, four elemental dungeons, and a four-part final level culminating in the final battle with Ganon. Items, puzzles, and enemies galore will feature in this quest, along with lots and lots of items to satisfy the explorer in you. Be sure to collect everything - you just might need it!
A sneak peek at features that will be implemented in the full quest:
-Link will start off with one heart and will need three hearts to be able to pick up the Wooden Sword.
-Instead of hearts and magic jars, Link will use potions to replenish health and magic using the LttP standard (Red = Life, Green = Magic, Blue = Life + Magic). Potion bags will be used to increase the maximum capacity.
-Fairies will still be implemented - blue fairies will restore three hearts, while red fairies will restore eight hearts.
-Heart rings and magic rings will not gradually refill life and magic. Rather, they will affect how much health and magic is restored when Link uses a Potion.
-HP is preserved through continuing/saving, so if you have 1 heart left in a dungeon you can't cheap out and restart the dungeon with more. If you die, though, you will regain a percentage of your max health back, although you will never respawn with less than two hearts of health.
-Wands will require Books to shoot magic
-The Fire Boomerang is nerfed - it will require magic to use, plus it will not hurt enemies that weren't already hurt by zero-power boomerangs. Because of this, Link will still be able to use the Magic Boomerang after picking up the Fire Boomerang. Additionally, high-level enemies will completely block all boomerangs.
-The Blue and Red Candles will require magic to operate. The White Candle (L3) will not require magic, and will have a more powerful flame.
-Amulets, in addition to showing invisible enemies (of which there are none), will allow Link to shoot sword beams. Amulet 1 will allow Link to shoot one beam at a time and require him to have 100% HP for sword beams, while Amulet 2 will allow Link to shoot multiple beams at a time and require him to have only 75% HP for sword beams.
-Due to this quest having the Golden Ring and the Master Sword, most enemies will get several higher levels - for example, L5 Octoroks, L4 Ropes, L6 Leevers, L6 Gohmas.
-Boots will be able to be eaten by Like-Likes - so be careful, as the shop for them will be well-hidden!
-The Whimsical Ring will be nerfed - only doubling Link's attacking power for that particular strike instead of allowing him one-hit kills.
-Lots and lots of scripting - I really had fun with this, and will continue to have fun with it as the quest goes on, so expect lots of puzzles. Don't be afraid to try things - anything can trigger something. Info caves are your friend!
-Be careful, though - Door Repair rooms will take away a quarter (or in some rooms half) of Link's HP if he doesn't have enough Rupees to pay the door repair fee.
-Expect plenty of humor throughout the game - the NPCs can get a bit snarky at times, especially if you cheap out on them.
===RELEASE HISTORY===
Version 0.1 (10-20-2018): Includes a playable demo that should take no more than 30 minutes to an hour to complete. Not a lot of puzzles in this, mostly because I wanted to save the hard ones for later.
