Potatisen

Description:
So this was part of my undergraduate composition thesis. Originally it was used for a game of mine, but I adapted it for the purpose of the thesis. Now it's available to you! This could be used as a battle theme, or a dungeon theme, or even a character theme, although it's a tad long.

This piece exhibits an unusual dichotomy of contrast and commonality. It's consistently quirky. I like it.

It was fun to listen too, but I'm not sure how suited it is for a quest. The volume varied too much, I think, and the mood of the song shifted a bit too much for a given "theme". Right now I think it's doing better as a song than proper dungeon music. If you leveled out the volume and focused it a bit more it'd be a lot better, I think.

That being said, I could totally see myself using this as is for a desert dungeon. I'd have to actually try it in a quest to see how much the mentioned issues actually affected it.

It is calm at some times and energetic at others and rapidly changes between quiet and loud. This makes it hard to find a good place to use it. The melody is not bad and the instruments are used well.

Also, I gotta give it this: The song is very interesting to listen to and has a lot of variety.
