They look good, not entirely functional in my opinion, I guess the tall sprites could be used as a "character portrait" type of thing.

why the npcs are twice as big as the hero? i like some characters but very old-school.

I wouldn't use the top two rows, but the bottom one would be very helpful for town's persons. Great work NoeL!

Is it just me or is that girl second from the left on the center row rather ridiculously busty?

These are very good, although it'll be hard for anyone to use them as-is, since they're obviously so customized. Doesn't make them any less well-done, though.
