Transcendent religious experience. Experience shimmering. Shimmering water doesn't flow normally. Normally, the book is the key. The key is the enemy. The enemy is the lie. The lie is comforting.

So I Played this. this was definitely an experience. but it was a good one. "a dungeon" was really frustrating with its puzzle, but i liked how you could do dungeons in almost any order. thats a ncie thing in quests. also, i wish there was a magic shield and some more shops n secrets. but i guess thats not the kind of quest this is.

Also i beat hidden dungeon boss in one try, so thats good
EDIT: the update makes the game frustrating, -2 stars for me
I rate this a perfect score

This quest is truly something. I mean if you tell someone you made a quest inspired by DayDay they would probably turn it down but if they actually tried this quest they might actually end up pleasantly surprised. You took a terrible quest and made it into something pretty enjoyable which is by no means a small feat I'd argue. Sure, the starting levels are small but who cares? Size doesn't equate to quality or fun.

The tileset is used very nicely here, this quest kindled my love for the tileset in fact. The overworld is compact and could of benefited from having more diverged paths but the dungeons and polish is where this quest truly shines I feel. Some of the dungeons had very nice pacing and flow backed with decent design philosophy. It's really solid for a first quest (and a dramatic improvement/expansion of a joke quest) and has the right ideas and does them right. Sure the names of the dungeons are jokes but who cares? I think it was needed for the self aware factor that this is still, at heart, a DayDay remake/sequel thing. Plus the most offensive name was replaced anyways. I dunno if the music choice is good or not, but I'd say it's not bad by any means. It could be better at least, I think. The hidden optional content is very nice too, and quite amusing. It's like a little scavenger hunt and I'd recommend everyone trying to solve it if they do play this quest.

Flaws? Yeah there's a few... the size CAN be a hit or miss... for me it's a hit, but I do see how it can be a miss too. The final final dungeon was disappointing due to its size. The music can fall under the same "hit or miss" thing but to a lesser degree. I'd say the fact that the foundation is literally DayDay is also a flaw as it held back a lot of things it seems. I guess while this quest does a lot of things right it could of pushed itself a little more outside its comfort zone if that makes sense. Eddy's Ways can get pretty old after awhile and I invented the damn thing. :P

At the end of the day I did enjoy testing and playing this quest. I saw nothing blatantly wrong with this quest and for a quest that's based on DayDay that's somewhat impressive. I would say this quest played it safe in development but I suppose this quest never would of been a thing otherwise. I really got nothing to truly fault this quest for and I pondered for a while now. Anyways, I give this quest a 4.50/5 which rounds up to a 5/5 so good job! I look forward to whatever you make next, Owen.

Never played this dayday-thing. Liked this quest, played it completely out of order though. To be stuck in the hookshot dungeon because of missing bombs and than in final because missing bow (my first two dungeons) was a bit of a let down, I played lvl 2 and 1 last and just rushed through them, but most likely to easy. Also no idea how to enter the cave behind the locked block (no key). Got stuck twice while going backwards through passages.

Nice little miniquest.

(Copy and pasted from the expo submission, but same thing applies here anyway)

Overall, it was very good. It just goes to show that you can make a quest that's widely disliked into something very fun and enjoyable. The overall screen design was very good, far better than the original DayDay. Music selections were good and some of the puzzles were very cleverly thought out (any interesting puzzles besides the block puzzles that is). Difficulty curve was great and there wasn't anything too hard or too difficult.

As for the drawbacks, there were quite a few tile errors here and there, some of the block puzzles were badly flawed where you can get yourself stuck and the only way out was an F6, which really sucks. Dungeons being too short isn't an issue for me, since it makes sense if you played DayDay, however I did want more for FINALFINAL, probably an actual dungeon rather than just a vertical strip of 4 rooms.

My favourite dungeons are probably the following: Eddy's Ways, FINAL and SECRET. While SECRET was pretty generic, the prize for beating the dungeon was very hilarious. Eddy's Ways was actually a whole lot easier than I thought. Even better that this is actually fair and playable. FINAL was actually pretty fun to go through, again kinda generic, but still pretty interesting in getting through the dungeon.

Overall, this quest was pretty fun. There were a couple odd things I came across which brought down the experience a bit, But yeah, this was great, solid 4/5 from me.

(copied from a post I made in the expo.)

This was a fun quest, but hell does it ever have a lot of problems. Not so much to ruin the experience for me so I gave you a 3. But I couldn't possibly go any higher.

I love it, I hate it, what can I say? This quest has a charm, but it's truly beginner. Everything about it feels beginner to me.

There were some frustrating aspects, there were also some aspects that were just plain dumb.

Your first level practically isn't even a level at all. I've designed houses bigger than your level, don't believe me? Explore the Resistance House in the Hero's Redemption submission from this very expo, that house is bigger than your first level. lol

Hell, it's not like a small level is entirely bad, but it just felt like I got the map not long after I entered, and I fought the boss right after I got the map.

Now I must ask, what exactly is the point of such map if the boss is just two or 3 rooms after getting the map? haha!

Nah, Level 1 is just embarrassingly small.

I say this quest is quirky. If you like a quirky quest that's an honest effort, this quest is for you. But if you're expecting something better, you won't get it here. It's short, entertaining, and sometimes just plain so dumb it's a laugh. :P

It's a fun little game and a great way to spend a couple hours. It looks really cool and several of the dungeons have some clever ideas. If you're looking for a fun, quick fix of ZC you could do a lot worse. I would have liked a little bit of a final level.

When I heard about this, I was expecting another random quest milking off of the popularity of DayDay, thinking it was funny, soley because it was related to DayDay. Instead, we get a monument of what DayDay HD should have been.

This quest made up for the rough patches that DayDay 2, and DayDay HD did that hurt the silly nature of DayDay.

I enjoy this quest quite a bit. There were a couple issues which I believe I've already told you about throw skype, but yeah, you get the idea.

Fun stuff, play it even if you didn't enjoy DayDay.

Solid 4.

I had a ton of fun finding out the true ending to dayday! I personally enjoyed this more than my dayday!
Because I found that this quest had some tile errors, some confusing dungeons and some places where you just don't need to go... I'm giving this quest a 4.

Keep up the good work!
