Wow this was an... experience.

This quest has entertainment value in some form, which is more than what can be said about other things. However, most of that entertainment comes in spite of what the quest is trying to pull off; it feels very unintentional. The gameplay of the game really isn't fun, which, given it's a game first, is a pretty big sin.

Dungeons are generally slogs with multiple obscure triggers that make me question what kind of moonlogic the creator expects from you. This game has a dungeon with a nails-on-chalkboard repetitive midi where you shoot invisible enemies in the wall, where a good majority of it is slow walk combos, where backtracking takes ages and this midi just keeps droning on and on, a dungeon that left me feeling no emotion but drained because that's how bad Level 3 dark world is.

...and then immediately after top it with a dungeon that's somehow worse. Nightmare is a really bad dungeon, a sidewarp maze that you're locked into until you beat the dungeon with no warning that it's a point of no return, a dungeon where picking up the map actually permanently removes the map from the dungeon, a dungeon where triggers are so nonsensical that the rest of the game's triggers look sane. I spent 3 hours trapped in this hellhole with no escape.

You can probably imagine my reaction when, not even 3 dungeons later, the game does the exact same thing to you again with level 7, locking you in yet another Lost Woods dungeon with no warning.

Okay, but I have to admit: Level 5 dark world is a wholesome dungeon. There's no visual clutter. The arbitrary secrets are kept to a minimum. It has a central gimmick that I've never seen before, is really cool, and I really wanted to see more of it (the walls are reflective and reflect stuff). What if you had diagonal walls that act like diagonal mirror combos, and you have to use them to hit a switch that's timed and you have to rush to get to? The gimmick is really cool and I really wanted to see more of it, but even though it didn't do too much with it I still really enjoyed that dungeon as a whole.

This is an excellent quest. I just played it for the second time and it was just as fun and challenging as the first time. I would rate this as one of the all time greats!

Ok....I'm probably going to get alot of hate for this, but opinions are opinions and I believe this is one of the top quests in the database, PURELY for design. I'm not going to let the grammatical errors pull down my rating (heck the guy is Hungarian, and at least he tried, in that respect. Ok yes, he could have had a proofreader look at his strings and correct them, but he didn't....but still....), nor am I going to let the absolutely nonsensical story (crossovers galore) ruin my rating either. Story in games like these is going to be left up to Nintendo, honestly. Sure, some people in this database can come up with pretty awesome storylines, but IMO that does not necessarily make or break a quest, as long as the player can feel like they are accomplishing something by going through a rich and diverse world, which this quest has. The level designs are remarkable (Levels 1, 3, 6, 8 and the final level really stick out for me). The one thing which did not make much sense to me was the fact that there are a whole bunch of odd triggers involved with this (burning rocks, hookshotting random things etc.) The Lens of Truth is DEFINITELY required to beat this quest, let alone 100% it. Again, I'm not going to let the above issues affect my rating here, I like this quest purely for the design of the dungeons, overworld and the bosses, which are done quite well for what 2.10 was capable of again IMO. CastChaos is a unique person and a unique quest maker, and I respect the humongous effort that went into not only this quest but the sequels to the BB series. I'm willing to ignore the "little things" (ex. even the 'naked girl' thing which has been dissed to the moon and back, and is another thing I am ignoring here :) and focus on the overall adventure here.

This quest is is pretty good, the only things I didnt like about it is that some of the puzzles were illogical and I had to use the lense almost every second while playing. Other than that it was solid

I'll give it a two. Sure, a one was my original rating, but I wanna at least respect the hard work put into this quest.

But seriously. This quest is a Story-driven kind, yes? If so, why is the story so bad? Why are there stupid plot twists that make absolutely no sense? Especially the end game stuff. I won't say what since I don't want the peeps to kill me for spoiling them.

But by the gods, the story literally gave me a bloody headache.

The dungeon design is good, but a few levels were just downright foolish (Nightmare, I'm looking at you). What's with all the Reploid logos? Why even putt them there? Why make a crossover like this take itself seriously?

And for the love of all, why did Myra's confession sound like she slept with the friggin Helmasaur? I won't talk about the naked girls since that's been covered by everyone and their mom.

It would've been a solid quest if I hadn't had to use the lens for just about EVERYTHING. None of the triggers anywhere made any sense! Burning rocks? Slashing stuff that's normally unslashable? Boomeranging walls? Hookshotting trees to activate something? *sigh*

The quest had so much potential... the dungeons, the overworld, a decent story at first... but I felt like It was ruined with all of that ridiculousness.

Also, if English isn't your first language, don't be afraid to get a native speaker to proofread your story. It was bad enough that the story made absolutely no sense, and I didn't even get to laugh, but the grammar just made it worse. And I hear that you're not a native english speaker. You still could've had the story proofread though.

I don't see why people are saying this quest is bad. The creator of this quest makes WAY better overworld design than me and a few other members giving this quest low ratings. If there's one thing I like about this quest, it's gotta be the boss scripts. I love alttp, and now battling alttp bosses on zelda classic is just BOSS! Like I said, the overworld design is great, and the dungeon design is great, too. I'm not really into the story. But I like the effort put into this game. (Plus, it's probably the only other quest that uses the name Knil.) :)

Very good game all in all. It had some parts that i hated namely nightmare forest. But it had so many interesting ideas and so much effort put in it that all these many errors had to be forgiven. Definately a very flawed masterpiece but a masterpiece nonetheless 5/5

This is one of the greatest quests I've ever seen. Sure it had SOME flaws but... 5 stars!

I remember the times when I liked this quest. Now here is my rating:

Things I liked:
+Cool dungeon concepts
+Music
+Castchaos clearly put a lot of effort in this game.

Things I didn't like:
-A**Pulls (new plot twist without properly foreshadowing it)
-Naked little girls (UGH! Dude, that's not funny, that's disgusting! )
-Engrish ("You're in life again!")
-Combos that don't make sense.
-Unnecessary Megaman crossovers.
-Too many cliché's. ("Knil is really Link" I DO NOT HEAR SUCH A TRUTH!)

In conclusion: Yes, CastChaos tried. However, effort itself doesn't make a good game. The execution does. And, to be frank, it was poor. Engrish, bad story, bosses that don't fight you, and last, but not least, naked little girls. Seriously, what the heck were you thinking?!

To everyone: If you wanna play a good quest, just play The Hero of Dreams. Seriously. That quest had everything: Good humour, good bosses, good story.
