I'm playing this on 2.55. I've just cleared the mine. This might read pretty similar to Eddy's review, oops.

For a demonstration of the power of scripts, this is really incredible. The subscreens, the maps, and the scrolling system are incredible. The shop setup too (I really want to use that for my own quest!!!). Visually it's impressive as well.

However, it starts to become a bit more mixed after that. Like I already said, I've cleared the mine, but I have absolutely no idea where I'm meant to be going as I roam through the forest. The NPC dialogue being either "trade" or "Yes?" makes it just a little less enjoyable to try and find my way around such an interesting overworld.
The player moving so slow isn't great either - I've been using Fast Mode to get around quicker. Fast Mode doesn't help when incoming fireballs from enemies are twice as fast as the player, if not faster.
I'm also not sure about bushes, tall grass etc not respawning in the overworld - although could this be because I'm using 2.55?

I will keep playing through this anyhow. For all its flaws, this is still a good quest.

I am currently playing this on v2.53 as I cannot find a 2.52 version. I am making progress but I have run into several non-game breaking bugs such as:
- Near level 3 (before you give an item to someone standing in your way), there is a bush you can burn. When I enter, then exit, I am in a different location of the game (beach near level 4 area)
- After warping to the dark world for the first time in the castle, there is a warp when you go right. However, you are warped back into the dark world because a plant is in your way. This could be a game-breaking bug for me, but, because of the bug above, I can continue. Also, if you have the orcania and know the song that warps you out of the dark world, you can continue.
- There is a town in the light world in lv 4 area where when you exit the house, you are in a different area (warped near a treasure chest but near the village)
- Same town as above, but in the dark world, a shop, when I exit, I am warped into an area where there is a heart piece near the town, but I cannot exit.
- To the right of the dark world town, in the snow patch area, if you warp, you will keep warping into a lava (do not come back to the dark world)
- Each "hidden" area treasure chests in the dark world locks up the game. (I hope one of them don't contain level 5 key....)

I'll keep updating as I play.

Very well done. Just finished the 2nd area (lair) and am exploring now, but did find something odd. I am not sure if you meant to be this way , but as soon as I entered the dungeon (lair), I had a chest available with the boss key, and the boss door accessible.
I did not have to play any of the dungeon to finish it. I am playing it in 2.55 if that helps to narrow it down. Just exploring now.

But way to go on this. Cannot wait to see what else it has in store.

The quest is pretty interesting and innovative from what I've seen so far, but is running with way too many unpredictable continue and autosave bugs, the character getting stuck in strange places and in strange ways, key/door issues, and more. Of note is that I'm using ZC version 2.53 b33 (the LTS release from this site) - is the ZC version really that critical? Shouldn't 2.53 be backwards compatible with all quests made for 2.52? I have screenshots and more detailed descriptions of my problems so far, if one is interested.

I like it so far, but I was in the first mine (first level?) and the game just up and disappeared on me. When I restarted, I was back in my house.
