 				      Ultima 7 Lightning Tiles
     				             By BH4

============================================<CONTENTS>===========================================

  Within this zip file are four files. You only really need one of them though, but it's a bit difficult to use without the other three.

 - This Text File

 - An Animation Including What The Lightning Tiles Should Look Like When Used Properly

 - An Image With Which To Rip The Tiles Ready For Assembly

 - The Image Of The Four Lightning Frames Assembled As Whole Pieces

 - An Image Of The Combo Page, With Numbers Substituted To Guide The Assembly Process

======================================<ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS>====================================

  Assembling the lightning tiles is no easy feat. Granted, it's slightly easier than Sludge's rotating triforce tiles, but his kind assembly instructions he had included were of significant help. Thus, it is only proper that I include some form of assembly instructions as well.

  To assemble the lightning tiles, you will have to rip the tiles from the following file:

                                        "LightningTiles1.gif"

  Rip the entire screen from the screenshot onto a blank tiles page. If you wish, you may replace the lower right tile (A golden number 4) with one of the other golden 4's from the other rows, however, it is anything but necessary.

  Once the tiles are in place, remember the tiles page they're on, and go to the Combo Page.

  Head to a relatively empty Combo Page. You will need quite a few combos for this. Ten Combos Horizontally, and six or seven combos vertically. First, set up your first combo. Go to the tiles page, head to the page you set up the tiles on, (Press "P" to get there faster.) and start your very first combo in the upper left corner. Insert the following information into the combo:

                                       Animation Frames:  4
                                       Animation Speed:   8

  Of course, the animation speed is entirely up to you. You may also wish to have it use Cset 6, which, if you are building off of Cset 2, which is quite likely, you should set the Cset to "4" instead of "6", because you will most likely BE building off of Cset 2. (That number is the _DIFFERENCE_ of Csets, not the "set to" Cset.)

         				       ---
  NOTE: Included is an image of the combo page with numbers substituted for the lightning image. The number on the left is the row of that combo, and the number on the right is the column. Read on to see how to assemble them. Use the file to match what you read and what you do.
         				       ---

  Next, once you have completed that combo, make a copy of it to the right, enter that combo, and shift its tile representation exactly four squares to the right. Repeat that step until you reach the end of the combo Page COLUMN.

         				       ---
  NOTE: There will be a point in which you will be "unable" to find the source of the next few combo's uppermost tile. Don't worry. Example "LightningTiles1.gif" (Or just look at your tiles page) and from the upper right corner, go down, and slightly left, until the place where the white lines meet a fine row of darkness. Move your cursor one tile down from the lowest line of white, on the upper part of the scren, and then proceed directly left, resting your cursor against the left side of the screen. That should be the beginning of the top of the later group of the top of the lightning tiles, where there generally are no tiles. Of course, you don't actually NEED these tiles, since there's nothing there, but it's just nice to be consistent.
         				       ---

  Next, make a copy of that last combo, and go down the combo page six or seven ROWS. Make four more combos just as you had in the previous step. You should be on your 8/10 tiles horizontally now. Make two more combos, still going four tiles to the right for each combo, so you should have only two combos six tiles lower than your second row of first-level height lightning combos. (I really hope this all makes sense.) See the Combo page screenshot for details.

========================================<ALTERNATE ASSEMBLY>=====================================

  The way these tiles are assembled right now, the results will be one continuous spark of lightning. If you wish for them to flash for a brief period of time, and then disappear for a while, you will have to do some layout work in the tiles page, involving seperating the tiles from each other in groups of four.

  From the upper left corner of "LightningTiles1.gif" advance four frames to the right. Press Spacebar to change the selection tool to the rectangular grid, rather than the wrapping tool. Highlight the top half of the screen AFTER the first four frames, and press "C" to copy them, then press Pagedown to move to a blank page, and Press "M" to move those tiles to the upper left corner of the page.

  Do the same step as above, but copying them _UNDERNEATH_ what you had just moved to that page you're looking at. There should be fewer tiles to copy along the right this time, but an equal amount of lightning tiles underneath those.

  Repeat the steps until you only have four lightning tiles in the corner of the screen, with five other vertical lightning tiles underneath each.

  Proceed to do the same thing to the bottom half of the original screen.

  The finished result of your tiles work, should have a neat row of 4 lightning tile columns, with all the rows occupied for quite a way down.

  Now you will have to assemble your combo page. It'll be a bit trickier, because I haven't tried this alternate assembly method yet. You'll need to set all of your combos to an animation FRAMES of -20- instead of -4-. This will make the lightning disappear for a while, instead of flashing continuously.

  The issue is just finding each set of 4 frames, and putting them all together so they make sense. But I'll leave that to you. It's really good practice. ;)

  So with that, ladies and gentlemen, I wish you the best of luck in assembling them. I hope they are to your satisfaction.

=======================================<Why Are You Still Here?>=================================

=============================================<Evil Message>======================================

  *Sigh*

  So you're still here, huh?

  Okay. Since you're so interested in staying, whenever you get back online,

  Go read C-Dawg's signature. That's my vengeance on your for reading after I had nothing more to say.

  Usually, when I say "Stop Reading," you STOP READING. But here you are, STILL READING!

  Are you, like, .. obsessive compulsive or something? :-P Go outside! Read a book! Volunteer your time at a nursing home! Old people can't feed themselves you know! They need people to yell at, and to say "I walked 20 miles to school in the freezing cold through four feet of snow, uphill, BOTH ways, ... in an active volcano!

  Alright, you're obviously looking for me to entertain you somehow. But .. don't. I don't have that much to say.

  Really, start considering volunteering your time at an old age home. People smile at that sort
  of thing. .. I'm not kidding. What, do you think this is Derisory Substance or anything,
  where I can just SAY ANYTHING? O_o .. .. Well, .. you seem to be reading it ANYWAY, so I have
  caught me a trap here.

  ...

  ...

  ... God, the site staff who had to check this submission over must have had a FIELD DAY. :-P

   *LOL*
