Okay, so over the next week or so, I'm going to be posting small teasers for the quest to try and gather more interest. If you don't want anything spoiled, feel free to pass up on it (the spoilers are minor at best, don't worry!). Most of the screenshots taken during this "event" will be of endgame-gear Link, so you won't know exactly where in the game it takes place until release! I may also not be around much the next few days, so I'll give you #2 early!

Today's update is on dungeons and bosses!

First one of the many dungeons you'll be exploring...

Martyr's Tower. A brilliant dungeon from the mind of Teamudf. This dungeon has a heavy focus on verticality, as the name suggests.


What is this puzzle? Remember, with Team, nothing is as simple as it looks!


Diverging paths re-converge on this first key, letting the player decide which route they want to take.



How do you get to that door, exactly?


Now this is fascinating. How does it work?

So you know how most tower-based dungeons are just linear climbs? Yeah, forget that noise. This dungeon will have you going up and down all over the place to finish it as you try and make sense of its riddles and mysteries!

Now lets take a look at a boss.

Prismatic Menace: Frostare


Frostare is much smaller than his Four Swords Adventures counterpart, but is also much more mobile, so watch out! Also for something with the subtitle "Prismatic Menace", he sure isn't very colorful... Hrmmm...


He turned green? And spikes appear to be coming out of certain floor tiles...


And now he's blue...

Overall his attack pattern is very basic, but this boss also has a strong emphasis on area denial, forcing you to deal with otherwise non-threatening attacks in very tight quarters. Additionally, since hitting the boss makes him flash and he seems to be changing color, you need to time your attacks so you can still get a read on what color the boss is instead of mindlessly spamming projectiles at a distance. Frostare, despite being mechanically simple, has quite a bit of depth to it.

I wonder what item could possibly solve those puzzles? Whatever could it be? I am totally actually wondering and don't already know!

 

Frostare looks like a fun boss though. I'm very much looking forward to playing this.

On topic though, Team seems like a wonderful designer to partner up with. Those are so nice looking dungeon screenshots, Umbral Cloud was a cool boss rush but the actual exploration and adventuring aspect of it wasn't very inspired. This looks a bit more well rounded!
