*Leaves house* Link: "Hello sunlight hello random swamp to the south! Hello Patra."
*runs* "Sorry, but your Link is in another Hyrule."
Cukeman
Link begins to wonder if taking up spelunking was such a great idea...
Jared
Umm...can you open the door? D:

Hello low quality screenshot. Hello enemy overkill. 5/10
Cukeman
I love the ground detail. I love those fancy edited classic mountain tiles. I love the fact that this isn't a mock-up. Maybe you could experiment with having non black cave floors? 8/10
Jared
The mock-upness is clearly showing here. DoR screen. 20 rupees. No DMap title. This is clearly just a custom tile showcase. A good custom tile showcase, but a custom tile showcase all the same. How many times can I say custom tile showcase? 7/10
Wait, those are custom tiles, right? I'm not crazy, right?

They're originally ripped by Radien from the game Goof Troop.

I like the southwest 1/4 of the map, but the use of two mountain types seems
a little random, and I feel that the openness of the southern edge needs to be
balanced by some mountains along the northern edge. Next time please make
sure your screen is the correct size so we don't lose all that tasty quality.
me:
This is a screen taken from my Zelda III: The Return of Link quest.
I customized those mountain tiles, and most everything myself, only
the ghosts and bones are fully original. I made sure it wasn't totally
symmetrical, did you notice?
Jared:
I am wondering if this is part of a quest, because the layout doesn't seem like
it was intended as a screenshot (buildings that are mostly cutoff). I do like the
tiles, but the flowers left of the mailbox are strangely grey, and that grass in the
center of the screen feels cramped between the path, and I'm not sure why it is
at the center of the screen, since it isn't something that should draw that much
attention to itself.

Hmmm. Despite how surprisingly often Classic wins SotW here, it rarely interests me. This is pretty empty. And what's up with those grid dots? Is that a compression issue?
Cukeman:
Nicely enhanced Classic tiles, and a good screen. Like I said before, I quite like those mountains.
Jared:
Hmmmm. You've demonstrated you know how to use the tiles, but now you have to put it to use on something interesting. In addition to being just a regular town shot, most of this screen is a wide expanse of bare ground. Why have all that open space in a town?
I'm voting for Cukeman. And there you have it.

Cukeman, your tiles are amazing, they look really good. And the screen design is great too. I voted for this!
Jared, this is one of your good screens. I like the layout and the open walking space. It's nicely detailed.

Not a horrible screen, but it's very safe. It lacks inspiration, thus even for a classic screen, it isn't interesting.
Cukeman - B
The only screen here that caught my interest. It's pretty simple, but still looks good. It brings something new to the table. My vote for this week.
Jared - B-
Not a flawed screen, but it still it isn't all that interesting. It fulfills its purpose though, making it good for your every day run of the mill village screen.

Cukeman - It's a pretty good shot. Simplistic tiles, but laid out and designed really rather well. Starting to wish I had voted for it, but looking at the vote count, I'd say you're pretty solid and don't have to worry about that, lol.
Jared - I voted for this one because at first look it was the most appealing to me. It is pretty nice, but I do think we're starting to see too much of the same kind of shot from you. Well, I think; I only remember last week's shot being this same style for certain... It's really good though, though I'm suddenly developing an aversion to the way those mountains look on the left. It just looks unnatural to me...

Cukeman: Pretty good looking screen Cukeman! I really love the tiles you have there, looks very nice, and has depth to them.
Jared: Good looking screen. I let the setup, and think it's cool that something good came of the Goof Troop game. I wonder what else can be salvaged from that game. I think my vote goes here, but was a difficult choice between this and Cukeman. *Votes*

Yeah it was a compression issue.

Not surprised about the 5/10. I tried to figure out a way to fix the low-quality

This was my first time on SOTW, so I don't know the correct size.
Sonicfan350, I don't like the classic tileset, and why is there a patra? ;D
The Patra was a reference to how hard I think Patras(I always have trouble with them, but no trouble with Gleeok 2s for some reason.

Somehow,I had a feeling somebody was going to say this.
sonicfan350 - It's... pretty bland. It's a good classic screen that looks like it could be taken directly from Z1, but still, it's empty and... not a lot going on.
Somehow, like what Nathaniel said,I saw this comment coming,I completely agree that my screen is bland.
sonicfan350: It's a pretty nice screen, but it doesn't have a whole lot going on with it. I think it looks a bit odd having 2 different colored mountains though.
This screen was posted like right before this SOTW started so I was working a little fast.
Thanks for critique!
