Congrats on a successful Map of the Month! Some really great maps here. I love Rambly's the most. Now I just wish mine was bigger.

Love the two element thing. I remember it was in NewJourneysFire's Sowls of Wisdom, but that's already far from the first time it's been used. Also, nothing wrong with reusing anothers ideas for your own thing, as long as it's not a complete copy. We are making Zelda games after all. One of the things that bugs me is the cacti in the fire room near the bottom. They seem out of place. I live the mirrors, though.

Thanks! The cacti aren't actually cacti, they're just suppose to be posts for your hookshot to grab.

This is a huge turnout, I'm glad to be a apart of it

 

Now, for the oh so awesome commentary part of the post:

 

Rambly:

This is a nice looking village. My only critique would be maybe make the coast line a little less straight, but it looks fine now, and I know that straight edge is less noticeable on a screen-by-screen basis.

 

Gouanaco:

I really like the labyrinthine, maze like feel of this map. I'm not a huge fan of grayscale stuff, but you pulled off a classic gameboy looking area pretty well.

 

Master_Maniac:

I'm liking the nostalgia value here, and re-imagining as a forest temple, but the screens themselves feel pretty empty. I know that's how they were in Z1, but if the tiles are going to updated, so should the level of detail, IMO. 

 

Astromeow:

I probably would have voted for this one, as a runner up. It's a little hard to tell what is going on, since it appears to be two separate areas. I'm liking the pink area on the left though, it looks kind of like inside a whale.

 

Zecora:

This looks like it is straight out of a gameboy Zelda. The layout is really well done, and I like the layers, but the screens themselves seem a bit empty.

 

Charizard:

It's bright, but I like it. Have you tried making the black outlying area a shade of brown? I think it would really make the map pop if the black was a color closer to the earthy tones used in the walls, and generally lighter.

 

Fireblast124:

This is a very good example of how to properly use LttP mountains. I really like that you were able to pull of such convincing slopes in ZC.

 

Nexas:

I like the theme of opposing elements here. I can't really think of any real critiques here. It looks like a dungeon from AlttP, which tome is a good thing.

 

Octorockoncrack:

I love the purple. This looks very otherworldly. Great use of Classic.

 

nicklegends:

This is a well designed GB map, but the grass could use a bit more variation here and there.

I really like this map. This would have gotten my vote. It reminds me of Radien's Deluge Temple in the DoR demo.

edit: In the end I voted for Anthus, because his map is just too epic to not vote for it. I wish we could've vote for multiple people here!
