This has annoyed me for quiet some time. I can't figure out how to hide the files that show up when you right click a program in the task bar. There is no setting that I've been able to find in the control panel, or by searching. It's just annoying to have certain things pop up on the menu when you right click something. This mostly occurs with Media players.

Any help is much appreciated.

Do you mean the jump lists? If so...

Right click taskbar -> Properties -> Start Menu tab
Uncheck the box to store recently opened items in the start menu and taskbar
Or click customize and set the number of recent items to display in jump lists to 0
