Disable secret sound on raft path

I am working on a quest with an overworld consisting of many small islands that are meant to be navigated with the raft. However, the secret noise playing every time the raft is used is quite annoying; is there any way to disable it?

Note: I've considered setting the secret noise for the screen to none, but this doesn't work as raft screens often have other secrets that still should play the sound.

Try to change the use sound, in the Raft's "Action" attributes, in the irem editor.

I can't seem to find anything like that. After some more testing, I've found that the raft's sound effect depends on the secret sound of the screen that the raft is used on.

The UseSound is a variable attribute in every zq version I ever used.

What ZQuest version is that?

...no matter the "Unused" seems to be the UseSound (cause SFX 27, is the SecretChime)


So, make "Unused" = 0
...and try:)

...I'd really suggest to use ZC 2.53 or 2.55 Alpha

I had already tried "Unused" = 29 and it still played the secret chime. But if I left unused as 27 and set the screen secret sound effect to 29 it played the stairs sound.

I also use a current version of 2.53 and it's got the UseSound atrribute.
...also in 2.55

So, now I am confused.

Just re-tried it on 2.55 beta and it still doesn't work.

I always assumed the UseSound would work (cause it's a variable attribute)
...but I never checked it out.

I'm gonna check out if it's a problem in Alpha 92 and 96... if it is, this might be something for the bug reports.
