As many of you know, Magi_Hero, 4matsy, Rambly, myself, and other community memebers, have put quite an effort to make sure that the foundation quests from the original creators stand the test of time.  Fortunately, and unfortunately, as of today, this long, arduous quest has reached its end with the beginning of the restoration of 3rdEX, the beta quest, which has never released.  No other quest, official or unofficial, exists before that, unless you're talking broken versions of PM's Demo Quest.

While this definitely doesn't include everybody, most of the real old important quests have either been remade or preserved.  Demo and James Quest have beautiful remasters available, Shadowblazer's Tiny Quest has a neat upgrade in Tiny Quest:  Gold.  New Quest has multiple remakes as well as its original versions available.  This pretty much just leaves AlphaDawg's Unofficial 3rd Quest as the last major old quest that deserves/needs to be preserved/redone in modern mechanics.

After this, we move really into the DarkFlameWolf/Peteo era and the building of the community, which I don't have as much experience in and would prefer someone else to remaster those quests if possible.  While the devs try to keep everything compatible, certain quests for better or worse stand the test of time and may need to be preserved further for historical purposes.  I have done my best with mine and the 1.84/1.90 era.  I hope the community does the same with the quests they treasure from their eras.

We also have an emulator called DOSBox that works well if you want to play it in the old versions "as they were."  No issues with that either.

Cheers.  Hope everyone's well.
