If anyone remembers my project Somnus, this is what it is now, the Star Odyssey.

Not much is done. Just one dungeon, a title screen and cutscene. Was originally going to be for a contest which started on the 15th but decided against it. This is mostly a proof of concept, but keep in mind there will be a lot of differences in the final release (if any). Should be a good 20 minutes if you have that to spare. Feedback would be nice. Would also advise not looking in the file as it is a complete mess due to the time limit it had. I intend to release this fully in a cleaner file for people to play around with as this will be a public tileset too... eventually. Also yeah, no active subscreen. Not really needed anyway.

You play as Aster, a boy undertaking a chapter in the Star Odyssey. What exactly is that? Well that does not matter in this demo, what does matter is you're here to fulfill something in this sanctuary. What could it be, and why?

Direct Download Link Note: Contains GBS music files, put them in the same folder as the quest, preferably within your ZC folder.

I had testers and myself comb through this. But if there's any oversights, please report them either here or in private.

I tested this and I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot! (Side note: The graphics are really nice. They seem to combine the prettiness of firebird but simplicity-of-use of GB. They work really well!)

Was made aware MediaFire was being terrible, so I decided to use Dropbox instead, it's a direct link, so no more BS I hope. Also, thank you both!

Great quest, lots of fun, beautiful to look at, love it!

Critism:

- enemies don't deal enough damage IMO

- wand is rather slow, I wouldn't mind it being able to fire a fireball each time

- slow teleport after stairs, but I assume that simply wasn't solveable in time?

- the "secret solved" sfx is great but stands out quite a lot and I imagine it could get annoying over time

- I personally dont really like the no-subscreen sequences, the subscreen doesn't bother me and the screen moving in the middle and back afterwards bothers me more ;p

Thank you for this fun ride!
