Hello everyone! Pure as a community has always been big on quest making contests, be it ones run by staff or ones run by various community members. As such we are taking a step further in that direction by encouraging more contests to be held. This thread going forwards will host a schedule for all upcoming events that are planned. If you want the gritty details then check in after the jump where I talk more about how we got here.

After much discussion among staff we've come to the conclusion that quest contests brings people together, be it to make cool pieces of art or to enjoy playing all the wide variety of creations people-- or furries, we don't judge --pump out. They can also serve as a nice entry point for people who are new: It gives you a smaller project to test the waters with that you're also sure you'll get some eyes on. Therefore, Pure aims to run three quest contests per year. The very next one is going to be announced in the very near future, so stay tuned for that!

Each contest will be unique, have its own themes, and ask something else of all of our creative quest creators. For example, the contest happening this summer will put the spotlight on ZQ Classic's new default tileset. Can you make something neat using it? Even if you've never used it before, it might be a great time to take it for a spin! Likewise, the last contest of the year will be an (hopefully) annual two week contest; assuming the hype is there. That one will be a more anything goes type of affair, something that lets you bring your a-game or just some random new unique idea you got!

But what's that? What if you want to run a contest? We are all planned out for this year, mostly since time keeps advancing and this stuff needs planning. But in the future, should you have an awesome idea for a quest contest that you wish to arrange? Then don't hesitate with getting in touch with staff. There's no formal process for this yet, but just drop the thread in the Staff Dropbox, and we'll get the ball rolling. Mind that if you want to run a contest you're expected to do a lot of the leg work in managing it too, but this lets it be formalized as an official contest on Pure and you'll get the help and backing of staff. Not to mention it will be easier to secure some judges if you're deciding to run a contest with judging.

After all, many of the successful contests in Pure's history weren't always ran by staff.
