This will be a run of Matthew Bluefox's original Zelda Deluxe quests, a total of 4 quests in the series.  May as well get this one up for completeness given I recorded this quite some time ago, so we may see some substandard play given I was fairly new to ZC a few years back.  I guess you could call this Zelda Deluxe series V1.  I already did V2.  So this run will show what the original version looked like.  Actually a pretty decent remake of the original and a useful baseline for the later ZD versions.

Zelda Deluxe 1 Playlist

Part 1:  Same old usual item grinding strats.  May as well do this to get any advantage for the early levels.

Part 2:  First couple levels aren't as bad now with the extra gear.

Part 3:  You'll note these levels start getting more cramped with enemies in them.

Part 4:  Level 4 isn't too different from the original, so the procedure is standard.

Part 5:  Hammer is well worth the price to buy.  Makes level 5 a bit easier.

Part 6:  Mirror Hyrule is pretty much the dark side of Hyrule.  Have to upgrade equipment ASAP if you want to survive and not have to hit enemies for forever.  Let's say everything has 4x endurance and at least 2-4x damage output

Part 7:  A quick pit stop into level 6 for some items

Part 8:  Don't have to do this, but makes future travel easier

Zelda Deluxe 1 Playlist

Part 9:  Quite a bit of free money to find in the overworlds.  If there's money on one side, it's generally a penalty on the other side and vice versa.

Part 10:  Going through the "bonus" level now, which is actually required to go through.

Part 11:  Mirror levels are a bit trickier.  Mostly just grinding through bulkier enemies.

Part 12:  Taking out level 8, noting it's in a completely different spot.

Part 13:  Takes quite a while just to get the items out of this place given enemies get a bit too bulky.

Part 14:  Exploring through most of level 9, getting most of the bigger things out of the way

Part 15:  Time to take out Ganon.  Can be a pain to deal with if you can't sword lock him.

Continuing on with the series with the 2nd quest.  Mostly the same as the original with a few twists thrown in.  Expect a lot of enemy grinding in later levels.

Zelda 2 Deluxe Playlist

Part 1:  Back to basics.  Luckily I can still do money grinding to get helpful supplies.

Part 2:  Starting some catch-up work to get a better sword.

Part 3:  Taking out two shorter levels to get back to par.

Part 4:  Time to grind for lots of money just to buy a hammer

Part 5:  Level 4 is a bit easier with the hammer in hand.  Bringing some extra bombs also helps

Part 6:  Level 5 does take a bit longer to get through this time.  For the boss, easiest to use bombs to get as much damage as possible.

Part 7:  Have to take a bit of a trip to the dark side to get enough stuff to then get upgraded gear.

Part 8:  With better gear, we can now hold our ground on the mirror side.  Time to clear out screens.

Continuing on with the series with the 2nd quest.  Mostly the same as the original with a few twists thrown in.  Expect a lot of enemy grinding in later levels.

Zelda 2 Deluxe Playlist

Part 9:  May as well scoop up the free money around the overworld to buy stuff later on.

Part 10:  Time to complete the bonus level to get the other main item.

Part 11:  Taking out level 7 first.  Quite the grind through enemy rooms.  Hammer really helps with many of these rooms.  The boss I didn't take it out very efficiently given I didn't know some of the tricks back when I recorded this.

Part 12:  Back for level 6.  The boss is a good example of how NOT to structure a boss.  Not well balanced unless you go into later levels first.

Part 13:  Level 8 isn't that hard to get through as long as you have the fire boomerang.

Part 14:  Level 9 is just one big enemy gauntlet with no shortcuts.  Takes a good while to get through

Part 15:  With boss key, level 9 isn't that hard to get to the end now.

3rd quest is a whole separate quest now, so no real hints to go off of.  No prior quest templates for hints.

Zelda Deluxe 3 Playlist

Part 1:  Getting as much stuff as possible.  Routes will be a bit different here.

Part 2:  Finding this bonus level early on will pay off for the near future.  Even makes the rest of level 1 more manageable

Part 3:  Exploring and grinding for money to get some of the purchases out of the way before going to level 2.

Part 4:  Level 2 will be more manageable if you found the bonus level beforehand.  Better armor and sword will pay off.

Part 5:  Level 3 is quite the grind with its big level enemies already.  Some of the rooms can get quite painful to get through.

Part 6:  Level 4 already puts heavy hitting enemies in here.  Being a little conservative rather than rash will help with survival in this place given how many hits enemies take.

Part 7:  More secret hunting to get a few more expensive supplies and the heart pieces.

Part 8:  Doing part of level 5 just to get the dungeon item, which is needed to grab something in a bit.

Part 9:  A detour to the mirror side to pick up something very handy.

The other half of the videos for ZD3

Zelda Deluxe 3 Playlist

Part 10:  The back half of level 5 is a bit easier with better armor, which did help out a bit.  Then time to get up to par on gear.

Part 11:  Going into part of level 6 to get essentials needed to get more bonus items that will help.

Part 12:  Typical tour of the Mirror Hyrule, clearing out screens.

Part 13:  Time to find free hidden money to spend on expensive stuff.

Part 14:  Batrobes are good for ammo refills.  Level 6 is a bit easier with the fire boomerang and red candle to an extent

Part 15:  Level 7 is a big enemy rush, so being more aggressive may be better to get quicker KO's.  Again, should not have 4-headed fire gleeok without mirror shield.

Part 16:  First half of level 8 to get dungeon items first.

Part 17:  Second half of level 8 is a big enemy rush.  Not fond of higher level patras with no slash ability

Part 18:  Starting out level 9, taking out the side paths for the items.

Part 19:  Finishing off level 9 to end ZD3.

May as well finish off this series with the 4th quest, which is basically the first 3 quests all lumped into one package.  Some different item placements and route choices.  So if you see some odd level hopping, you'll see why.

Zelda Deluxe 4 Playlist

Part 1:  Starting off buying as much as we can, but no blue ring this time.  Good thing no real money caps here.

Part 2:  Exploring a few levels, mainly to get essential supplies before branching off.

Part 3:  The difficulty starts spikes rather early on, making early detours a bit risky.

Part 4:  Blue ring is always nice to get, helps to get back to par.

Part 5:  Going to get a boomerang, as that will help in the near future.

Part 6:  All these detours were to get this one item.

Part 7:  Picking a few short levels to go through.

Part 8:  Continuing to move up the level chain.

Part 9:  Finally getting a triforce piece.  x-3's will have them with the exception of 1-3

Part 10:  Still cleaning up early levels to get back to par

I didn't expect you would run through all four Deluxe's in a row, great runs there, Pix! As usual, flawless and potionless. :)

They're not on the database anymore.  You'd have to find someone with the quest files.

Please use the link in the signature below to reach the playlist page.  For some reason, when I try to post with links, the post turns out to be garbage with no links.
