Hello everyone!
Due to poor preformance on the old server, it was decided to move PureZC over to a new virtual private server host. This means that the host is dedicated to us, and we don't have to compete with other websites for resources. This will allow us to hopefully provide you all with more stuff in the future!
Unfortunately, as you may have noticed, this meant losing the purezc.com domain. While we may be able to inherit that domain in the future, we're forced to use .net for the time being. All links to the .com domain should redirect to .net, though!
With this switch of hosts, we have also done some upgrades and changes!
- Invision Board 3.4 had some overhauls to the backends for managing the text editor. This should hoepfully fix some of the weird issues with the editor that came up.
- We'll be using something called "sphinx" for forum searches. This means that forum searches should hopefully be a lot faster.
- Topics on the site (quest help topics, quest project updates, and dev topics) can now be followed.
- Topics on the site are now on the home page.
- Some home site stuff is listed in the "View New Content" section.
- When following projects, you can now request notifications.
- There is now a "trending quests/projects" feature that will show quests and projects that have recently gotten a lot of activity.
- PureZC now has a dark skin.
- New notifications have been added for demos of quests you're following and for betas/dev topics of projects you're working with.
- A few other refinements were made to the other skins.
- Various other changes and fixes to minor issues people have brought up recently.
Thanks for your patience during all the site issues and slowdown. Hopefully this new host will work out better for us!
As a bit of a heads up, I'm probably going to be taking a break from working on the site so that I can just get some time away. So, unless there are some major issues that come up, any requests for skins, new features, and things like that probably won't be done for quite some time. Sorry about that!
