How many entrances are there for L8?  I've found the truth crystal, boss key and dungeon item but no map, no compass, and so far nowhere I can find to use the boss key.  I feel like I must be missing an entrance somewhere given there are several.

 

Edit:  Never mind I missed a bombable wall that I swear I had tried.  I now have the map and compass and don't consider myself stuck.

 

Edit 2:  I am stuck in L8, and missing something that most people must not.  I used my last key to enter the triforce room, but can't seem to do anything in there.  There's a room 2 rooms south of there that I can enter from above but the switch in the room is triggered from below.  Below that room is a group of three rooms on the map that I haven't figured out how to access.  The entire rest of the map is filled in.  Subtle hint as to what I might be missing?

Look for a walk-through wall in order to access a secret room, then go right from that secret room and continue north.

Do you see that blank room, which is one up and one right from the blue spot on the map in the image you posted? That is the "secret" room and you can walk into it from the room below.

Have you gotten the boss key? If so, you have to find the secret entrance to the boss room on the overworld. Look for a hint pointing towards the entrance. If not, you'll need to find another key to get to the boss key room. If this is the case, let me know which keys you have gotten and I can give you a specific hint.

To get into that room, make sure to read the hints with the Truth Crystal. You need to open the secret entrance by solving a puzzle.

The hint on the room below that says:

"Search in the matching rooms."

 

This means that:

You have to find a pair of matching rooms, and then find the difference between the two and correct it. This will open a secret passage that will allow you to progress.

AFAIK, there is are two rooms with two rows of torches and 2 mini floor masters, which curse you when touching them.

Congrats! Where you go next is up to you, but:

The Gauntlet requires the Level 7 dungeon item to 100% complete.

 

And don't forget: if you feel lost, the hint cave near Level 2 always tells you where to go next to complete the story!

Well I'm not sure where you've looked so far, but the location of the keys you can get without the dungeon item are:

Both are on the right side of the dungeon, but one requires you to do something on the right side then head back to the left to actually get the key. The other requires you to kill some enemies.

Head up when you enter the dungeon, jump over the lava to where you see Din, then head right to find the first. Keep heading straight from Din to find the second key.
