Hello, I am using moosh's noobie item script, but it requires I add the them to my subscreen, I am able to add the "current item" to my subscreen and can see the custom item class on the subscreen, however I cannot get it so I can select it in game. I tried putting the selector 1 or 2 and the button item, but its not working.
anyone think they could advise me? I've looked at a couple tutorials on setting up subscreens, but they dont really touch how to put in custom items/scripted items. they just talk about how to make custom subscreens which i am already using DoR's custom subscreen. Active New (B+A) - Triforce

Look in the attributes tab of the item properties. The position is an ID number. It has to be 0 or greater, and it has to be different than any other selectable item. The up/down/left/right select attributes indicate which item will be selected next if a direction key is pressed while that item is selected. For instance, if the hammer has a position of 2 and the hookshot has a left select of 2, pressing left while the hookshot is highlighted will select the hammer.
So what you need to do is give your item a position number, then set the select attributes of the items around it to its position.

ah ok that makes sense. i went it fixed that since i moved them around and selection for current items works properly but the custom item is still not selectable. Do I need to make sure a selector 1-2 box is over it too? or item override?
also when in game the selector will only go left, right up, or down as long as I have an item directly to its left, right, up, or down position. if that item isnt there, it wont just over to the next item like it should.

Figured out what it was. Basically I put 28 item positions including the blank spaces in my subscreen for items i haven't put in yet. It needs to only have as many items as you have. so for me, i only have 17 usable items in my subscreen and i added in an 18th scripted item. here is a short vague video of how i fixed it. maybe it will help someone else too?
