Pretty minor and nitpicky, but I'm not super fond of the sound effects when compiling scripts in 2.53 release 3 and higher -- I find them kind of loud and distracting.  A little tick box in the options menu to be able to turn them on/off would be a nice, hopefully easy-to-implement QoL feature.

(I know you can always mute ZQ in Windows' Volume Mixer, and it's not really an issue for me to do so because I don't need any sound features in ZQ, but it'd be nice to have the option, at least.)

So I just realized ZQ will just use whatever you have set as the SFX for the relevant slots (20: Item fanfare, 28: Link dies, & 34: Zelda's fanfare).  Kind of renders the point of this topic moot.

If I recall correctly, the SFX can be set in one of the .cfg files as well. I don't remember which or where at the moment, but I'm pretty certain the option exists.

Digging around, I found these in zquest.cfg. The numbers for the first 3 seem to refer to the exact values I referenced earlier:

[Compiler]
compile_success_sample = 20
compile_error_sample = 28
compile_finish_sample = 34
compile_audio_volume = 200

So that's kind of neat. You could theoretically set totally custom compiler sounds if you were so inclined... or just disable them with compile_audio_volume being set to 0, I imagine.

UPDATE AFTER PLAYING AROUND: Yeah, I was right. I'm doing my own sound effects now. Woo! A frontend would be nice, but it's good to know the feature's there...

Having this feature be brought forward in the ZQ UI or ZLauncher would be really nice, though, still.

I realize for some quests it's really nice as the compile/assign times are so long, but it's a bit intrusive for anything else.
