(I don't know if this belongs here, or in 'Custom Quest Discussion', but I think this is the best forum, as this is where people looking for help with this sort of thing would seek this kind of assistance.)

Offer: Custom Title Screen Creation

Now that I;ve managed to work out FFC scripts for a start screen, with a variety of options, and have made several title screens using them, I'm offering to create title screens, to anyone who wants/needs a title screen for their game.

This offer is for a basic title screen, bit if I find your project interesting, I can make a much more detailed screen for you.

I also am happy to help you with custom (non-scripted) subscreens, as I've done several, and have found myself helping people to make their own on several occasions.

Restrictions:

This is a free offer, and as such, I will take on requests on a case-by-case basis. If it looks as if you are likely to release a game, I am willing to do much more work to help you. If you have an history of cancelling projects, i will be less likely to devote time to this kind of project.

The offer is valid generally for simple designs. If you want something complex, then I'd need to become a bit more involved with you, and your quest, to incorporate the tiles, and such.

My output will be based on your palette. I will work with your existing palette, to the best of my ability; however if I need additional swatches, I will need to discuss them with you.

All this notwithstanding, I can't give you any deadline dates on completion schedules.

If you need assistance along these lines, and like my present output, by all means, make your requests here. If

I can only take on one, or two projects at a time, so if I see many requests, I will place them in a queue.

Here are examples of the screens that I've made thus far:

「クソゲー」
Kusoge! Title Screen

This is designed to mimic early Famicom.NES title screens.

kusoge-a.png
「クソゲー」 (Kusoge!), screen state 1.

kusoge-b.png
「クソゲー」 (Kusoge!), screen state 2.

The orange flickers with red. The green Katakana (read as Puresu Sutāto, i.e. 'Press Start'), flickers green & white, but it is too fast for a still image capture. You can view this title screen by downloading the Kusofe.qst file here.

Guns & Ammo:

Not my best work, but it offers a new twist on ZC. There exists an ammo counter, and ammo box counter on the passive subscren, for each type of sidearm. The active screen has antique, flint-lock style muskets/rifles around the TF frame.

The counter items.

gun-active.png
The active subscreen with firearm decorations.

Legacy of Emperors (a.k.a 'The Golden Cenotaph):

I've done several variations on this, making improvements with each rendition, as I had the time to make new screens.

LoE Title Screen, Version 1
LoE_v1.png
My first title screen for PoE: This one is very crowded, due to not accounting for the passive subscreen.

LoE Title Screen, Version 2
LoE_v2.png
An improvement on v1, but not quite what I wanted. This accounts for the passive subscreen bar, but is still plain blue on black text.

LoE Title Screen, Version 3
The latest version of the title screen for LoE: This is much loser to what I wanted achieve, and is limited only by my very strange palette. This version is full-screen, and uses the subscreen bar to fill the top of the image.

LoE_v3-1.png
State One: The screen appears, and the 'Press Start' FFC flashes. The words 'Legacy of the' appear first.

LoE_v3-1.png
State Two: This is the flash state for 'Press Start', before the screen updates.

LoE_v3-3.png
State Three:
The word 'Emperors' appears, after 90 frames. This part does not flash, and is timed to appear after 90 frames. The test of 'Press Start' continues to flash, but the word 'Emperors' does not flash or go away.
(Demo File: r50s36C )

LoE Subscreens:

LoE_r50-passive.png
The Passive Subscreen for LoE.

LoE_r50-active.png
The active subscreen for LoE. Note that quest items (the jewels in the upper-left corner can be set as active items. I will be updating this again, with the ammunition (e.g. arrows), and other passive inventory equipment enabling options. All of the custom sprites are 8-Bit.

These are all based on my titleScreen.z FFC script:
You can try these title screens at your leisure, and you can download the script here.

The script download package contains two .qst files, giving examples on using either the direct-warp, or the secrets-warp method, plus two script files: The basic, normal FFC script, and a more complex script for those who want more options (or control).

If you need any help setting this sort of thing up in your quest, reply here, or PM me. Just keep in mind that the more graphical work you need, the longer it will take to complete.

Wow, ZoriaRPG, you are very generous! :D

I would ask for a title screen for my quest if I hadn't already made one myself. I will definitely think of you if I ever feel like making mine better, though.

Now that I have some aspects of it down to a science, it's not too terribly difficult. The major challenge is palette integration, with complex designs.
