Like, can I make an aquamentus move up and down or something by copying the code (like how you can copy and paste Enemy Editor enemies), or do I need to code a whole new aquamentus from scratch?

You could have a script move an aquamentus up and down. Generally anything that adds onto existing enemy movement works, but anything that would require suspending its built in behavior does not. NES bosses are very restrictive in this way.

I sometimes add scripts to common enemies (like making a Tektite shoot fireballs) but I advise against trying to add scripts onto bosses, they are indeed very hard-coded.
