I'm trying to allow the player to look at the map and only at rooms marked in minimap, but I can't see a way to mark the rooms when the dmap is set to "overworld". There are some rooms on the dmap I don't want the player to see by pressing "map", is there any way to make this happen without just manually moving all of the rooms I don't want the player to see to a different dmap?

Set the Overworld setting to Dungeon or somthing else. Overworld will show you the complete map. With Dungeon and the others, you´ll only see that from rooms you even entered.

The DMap editor's room marking grid actually works for the overworld display, you just can't see which ones are marked and which aren't.

An ease-of-access trick you can use is to temporarily switch the DMap type from Overworld to NES Dungeon or Interior. That'll bring up the marking grid that actually shows which rooms are marked and which aren't, and they remain marked as you switch between DMap types (including when they seem to disappear when switching back to Overworld). However, that only allows you to select the leftmost 8 columns - the other 8 columns on the right, you'll have to do blind. But if you click a bunch of the rooms in the marking grid while using DMap type Overworld and then switch to NES Dungeon or Interior, you'll see that those clicks have been registered as marked.

I've been planning to make a feature request for this (which probably isn't a true feature request, as much as it is a display request for a feature that already exists), but it's been sidelined by more important bug reports for now. You could probably go to the feature requests forum and request the same display for Overworld DMap types that NES Dungeon/Interior types show. I don't think I'll get to it for a while.

Thanks, this almost worked but I have a few rooms I want seen beyond column 8. Is there a way to copy or duplicate an entire dmap?

Yeah you just have to match those up using the Overworld marking grid as best you can.

Is there a way to copy or duplicate an entire dmap?

On the Select DMap menu, the standard ctrl+c and ctrl+v will copy and paste full DMaps.

This copied the information for a dmap, but not each individual screen. I guess what I mean is, is there any way to copy or clone every screen on an entire map and paste it on another map? Or do I have to copy each screen over to a new map one by one?

Never mind, I got it. In case any one else is wondering how to do it, just go to file->export map, then file->import map while you are on the map you want to paste over.
