Mostly copypasted from AGF 'cause I'm lazy.

First things first: I'm using the 2.11 version beta, build 18. This is the lastest build, yes?
---

Having trouble setting up the magic meter in the passive subscreen, how do I do this properly?

Could someone show me a few screenshots of how all the tiles and minitiles are supposed to be set up?

Solved for the time being.

I've noticed that when you start a quest Link is always facing upwards. Is there a way to fix this?
---
Is the Cane of Byrna working yet?
---
Sorry if I'm annoying you guys, I haven't been using ZC in a while so I've gotten kinda rusty.

Oh!
oops.

I forgot to answer this!
Sorry.
You wanted screenshots of how the tiles are set up.
But didn't you say you were using the defualt tileset?
If you go to page 98 in a new quest, there are 3 pages of the tiles set up.

Is it possible to have the whistle act like the ocarina from Link's Awakening? If you don't know what I mean, I'll explain. When you first got it, it didn't actually do anything, but you learned three different songs during the game, each having their own effect.

If you script it.
Which actually probably wouldn't be that hard.
Deciding which song you're playing wouldn't be so easy though.
You couldn't do it like in LA because we can't have scripts running whilst on the subscreen.

I'm trying to make a big Moblin, twice the size of the regular ones. However, when I play the quest only the top-left corner of the Moblin appears. How do I fix this?

I'm afraid big enemies are only supported via scripting at the moment =(
And if you just take a small enemy and make it big in a script, it ignores solidity, which means you have to make the script stop it walking onto unwalkable combos and things >_<
It's a nightmare.

You'd be best off using those tiles for a custom boss I think.

About the magic tiles: I see those different tilesets but I don't know which tiles and minitiles to select. I just simply can't wrap my head around how I'm supposed to do this! When I start off ingame, it looks like I have all magic containers and an empty magic meter no matter how much magic I actually have.

And about the boss thing: I don't know how to make custom bosses.

Right!
  1. Set up your magic tiles like they are in the default tileset
  2. Go to Quest->Graphics->Sprites->Weapons/Misc. Select the 'MISC: Magic Meter' entry, and set it to be the top left hand tile of the ones you've just set up

Idontkonw's ZQuest Tutorial has quite a nice section on simple custom bosses, and this one's quite good too.

Is there any way to edit multiple magic meter segments at once?

EDIT: Did just as you said, now there's no magic meter at all!

Start up ZC, go into my quest, give myself magic via cheats, no magic meter!

Urm...

Do you want to send me your quest and I'll have a look at why it's not working?
I can't seem to think what the problem would be.

Well, I'm using magic meter pieces, does that matter?

I really don't want to send my quest out.

Could you maybe show me a few screenshots from the editor, of how everything should be set up? Maybe I'm just doing something wrong.

Magic meter pieces in the subscreen editor, rather than the magic meter object you mean?

Oh...

You could've said =P
I can't remember how to do that, and I don't really plan on working it out again.
It's not very obvious at all.

What's so bad about the Magic Meter object?

I don't know, I was only using the Magic Meter pieces because that's what the subscreen I'm editing started with. If the Magic Meter is better I'll use that instead.

EDIT: OK, how do I set up the graphics for the Magic Meter? Because when I test it out only one Magic Meter icon appears regardless of how much magic I actually have,

Well it's not strictly 'better', it's just a hell of a lot easier to use.
  1. Set up your magic tiles like they are in the default tileset
  2. Go to Quest->Graphics->Sprites->Weapons/Misc. Select the 'MISC: Magic Meter' entry, and set it to be the top left hand tile of the ones you've just set u
  3. Go to your passive subscreen, and delete all objects with the name 'Magic Gauge Piece'
  4. Create a new subscreen object called 'Magic Meter' and place it where you want it

When you say 'only one magic meter icon', do you mean a full bar of magic, or just one chunk?

Just one chunk. Also, can you not just post screesnhots?

Update on the Magic Meter situation: It seems no matter how much magic I try to give myself I only get 1 unit of Magic. The thick plottens.
