@Shoshon the Elegant: I don't think you're aware of this but there's a certain unspoken rule/gentlemen's agreement among SOTW participants where the submitter don't vote for themselves or their rivals simply to ensure the voting process is fair and unbiased. If I were you I would remove the vote you just made and null your vote, simply because I don't it's a good idea to break the unspoken rule/gentlemen's agreement.

It's there mostly so people don't get cheeky and vote for themselves, and in fact it's generally (from what I know) seen as a huge compliment to vote for someone else if you've entered in the contest yourself.

allb - You're getting there, but still quite a few more things you can improve on. For one, you can probably improve the ground detail a bit further by maybe adding tall grass around the area for a bit of variety, and maybe scattering some trees around in the middle too. Talking about the trees, it would be much better if you diagonally line up the trees rather than stacking them up vertically like that (for reference, continue doing what you were doing near the far top-left, that would look nicer IMO). Keep on going though, you definitely improved a bit since your last shot.

Shoshon the Elegant - This seems pretty interesting. I like the design of the area and I imagine the place must be quite abandoned given how the floor is falling apart and all. The only thing I'm not too fond of is the guards on the table, the perspective is really weird and I just can't see them as laying down. I'm not sure how you could go about that, but yeah it looks weird to me. Good work anyway.

Anthus - Very nice classic shot, I like the layout and design. The palette is very interesting, not sure if I'm a fan of it but it looks cool. I probably would've gone for more black personally, but that's just me lol.

Orithan - Nice dungeon shot here, I like the variety of the colours on the floor and all, and it seems like that dungeon goes quite high up from the looks of things. Similarly to Dimentio's shot last week, I would probably curve the walls near the top so that there are two layers going across the top rather than it cutting into the ceiling, since it looks weird to me. Other than that, nice job.

xanadude - Haven't seen a monochrome GB shot in quite a while, so that's pretty nice to see. The design is quite nice and simple and not overdecorated or overcrowded, so there's plenty of room to move in. The only small critique I have is to probably curve the mountains around the waterfall. I see you are going for with the GB aesthetic stuff, so it would be cool to see that being a thing too.

FireSeraphim - I really like the Face Shrine-style graphics you got going here, it seems to look pretty good. The room seems quite brutal with the Beamos everywhere and those things that push you away, but I imagine by that point late in the game (since I assume this is Level 7) it should be manageable. The only thing I don't really like too much is the random white lines around those things in the corners (I forgot their names, sorry lol). I imagine it would look better in game but they just don't fit here for me. It probably would be better to just remove them and then just give them an animation like in Link's Awakening, but yeah that's just me.

I voted for FireSeraphim this week.

I voted for FireSeraphim this week.

Those are Vacuum Mouths, and they do actually have an animation while firing. The white lines move very rapidly, so it would look better in game, but mostly they're there because in reality the script is an edited Lejes' "Suck To Blow" script. It would also let us have immediately obvious "push away" variations as well, as well as just making it generally obvious why Link's getting sucked.

Haven't seen a monochrome GB shot in quite a while, so that's pretty nice to see.

Fun fact. No colors = grayscale (like Game Boy Pocket). Monochrome = 1 color (like the original green screen Game Boy).

Sorry for being pedantic.

Perhaps they had different iterations within the GB line, but the original GB I have has a green tint to everything.

GreenBoy: It's bigger than an Xbox

And Zoria was right; Mario Land is really hard to play with all the motion blur. Not impossible, but damn.

If there were two fewer screens here, I just might accidentally think this was Screenshot of the Month.

allb - I do like it more than the previous screenshot.  The improvement is subtle, but keep working at the ideas.  There are plenty of things that can go into a village.

Shoshon the Elegant - Quite an elegant one, and my vote for this week.  Normally I'm not into too many colors, but I think you pull it off well here.  There is a symmetry here, which is fine, but thankfully it's broken up by a few details.  I'd love to explore that entire dungeon.

Anthus - Great use of subtle color differences for classic graphics.  Subtle grass details give a small hint of environmental transition that may be more obvious over the course of more screens.

Orithan - I'm not quite sure where you are going with all of this, but at the same time, that is in the mystery of the setting.  Wanting to know what is going on in the surrounding screens is a good thing.  I'm not sure how I feel about the mult-colored floor tiles, other than I feel that the brown looks better as the middle color, to better go with the rest of the screen.  That is, unless you want to give us that walk the red carpet feel.

xanadude - This shows that you don't need color to get what you want.  The devil is without a doubt in the details here, which are well done.

FireSeraphim - Quite a busy screen, but understandably so for what it's supposed to be.  Link best be careful.  I'd check the wall on the right, to see if you can go that way, unless he already came from there as a push through wall.  Otherwise, it's a hint that it's not a dead end when the blue gates are down, or is just there to tease the player.  You had me thinking, so very nicely done.

Monochrome* would be shades of green (original Game Boy), or shades of red (Virtual Boy), or shades of (insert color here). Grayscale is Black, White, and shades of gray (Game Boy Pocket).

Dunno why we're still talking about this though.
