Just your typical fire and brimstone hell... why do wanderers willingly explore here?

Always nice to see other quest authors doing it the way nintendo did it and squeezing in the dungeons tight on a map!

PeteandWally has NES-like dungeons so authentic that, for a brief second, I thought those were just the actual Z1 dungeon maps.
I really dig what Hub's got going on there, looks like it'd be really fun to explore! No clue what the caption's referring to, though.
HeroofFire's is... okay, I guess, but really, really generic, though that could just be my anti-GB bias...

Peteandwally's map is unfortunately in that spot where I can't adequately judge a dungeon by looking at it, so I have to fall back on pretty, and NES dungeons don't generally tend to be pretty without a lot of embellishment. I don't really have much else to say here, unfortunately.
Huby's map is where I voted! Not everything in it works for me--the hedge treetops are a pet peeve of mine, and those trunkless evergreens look kind of dopey--but it's still a pretty map in a rare tileset with a reputation for being a bit hard to work with. (Although that information might be out of date. Jared's mentioned that the update involved an overhaul there, so anyone who uses 2.55 and is curious should give it a spin and let me know!)
HeroOfFire's dark screens are a neat concept that I almost managed to overlook entirely. But his palette choices kill this map for me. I can't look past that here, not when palette flexibility is normally one of the GBC tileset family's greatest strengths.

Again, it's great to get some love for old maps. As long as screenshots submissions are needed to kick off voting, I'll do my best to dig up the old maps..
The NES dungeon is from my 5th quest: https://www.purezc.n...=projects&id=99
Have fun,
