ok first of all for those people wondering a chao is a "pet" from sonic games
but the newer ones don't have chao. why? one thing that added hours and hours to the sonic games were the chao. why did they have to remove the chao?

Maybe it's cause.... >>
They don't fit in the game...
well...
I have never seen the newer games WITHOUT a chao.
sonic secret rings has a chao...
but for the PS3, PSP, and Xbox360, I dunno.
but if your saying about those games on those consles... then... I dunno.
But, it's really their choice.
Like breaking the tradition in zelda twilight princess... but I don't really care about the cucco tradition, I think its just a fun add,

Chao were added to the game to appeal to a younger audience, along with a lot of other things. I NEVER play the newer sonic games. the old ones are a thousand fold better.

Yeah, have to agree with you there.... I did have the chance to play Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast, which was alright for a little while, until later on I noticed I don't like 3D movement with Sonic. Why? Tricks are much harder to do, which is one part Sonic works on. Also, you can't get multiple hits on Dr. Robotnik like the originals.

See what's happened? What made Sonic fun was taken out in order to provide a new(though under-par) experience. In order to fix this, they should:
  • Remove all main characters not listed in Sonic 3
  • Return to 2D by offering HUGE levels with many ways to progress
  • Bring back old bosses, like what they did at Sky Santuary in S&K
  • Super Sonic can activate anywhere as long as you have the Chaos Emeralds
  • go back to cartoony CG Sonic, Tails, etc. That's your appeal to a younger audience!
  • Nostalgia is your friend. Where's those remixes of those great songs?

See? They need to follow Nintendo's example when releasing certain series...

I'm sure their "reinvented" Sonic the hedgehog for the newer consols (Xbox 360, PS3) isn't as good as they want you to think it is, either.

Ugh. I still can't get over the fact that Shadow has a gun. Guns + Sonic = PH41L.

That's cuz it's Guns + Shadow = Ebola Zaire PH41Ls. pwned. icon_superevil.gif It's been clarified that Shadow the Hedgehog is not a Sonic game, but one of Shadow's own. But just so you know, the guns are optional. icon_blah.gif

Anyways, I think what fireice meant is not Chao just appearing in the game, but the Chao Gardens, where you can actually raise Chao. I like doing it, but it'd probably get redundant if it's the same in every game and nothing changes. icon_shrug.gif
