Without further ado...

IPB Image VS! IPB Image

EDIT:IPB Image

Which do you prefer, and more importantly, why? I did not enable a poll on purpose; I want your opinion and reasoning. Note that I am leaning towards NoeL's mountains because I find the GB mountain perspective to be an easier and more flexible style.

I'd take the second one.

They look better to me. The first ones give me the feeling of me being in a desert. The other ones give me that actual mountain feeling...

But thats just me. icon_wink.gif

Well, it depends what you're going for. icon_confused.gif

The first one is more zelda like. The second is a clear RPG style. (the sd3 sand doesn't really help that either icon_razz.gif)

But for me, I don't like either. Mainly cause I just don't and never have like the first mountains. And don't get me wrong, I like NoeL's mountains but I just don't like them for a zelda game. But with the type of screens I've seen from this I'd go for NoeL's. Mainly cause it just looks better in this situation, but I absolutely hate the color, need's to be more brown in my opinion. Like Shoelace's recolors, if you've seen them.

I like Noel's mountains, but they could use better colors.

They are in the database Aaron. They're "Alternate Mountain Tiles" by NoeL.

Hmmm... so it seems like you like the mountains, but dislike the color? How about this then?
IPB Image
By the way, I don't really like Shoelace's mountain colors myself... just too little contrast, IMO.

Now that's nice! I love the new sand colors the most. But the mountains also look a lot better.

I like the first one better. The other one looks more like a mountain, but it has such a dark feel to it.

Not like I disliked the original colour, but I'd rather hit this one. The colour really matches the sand and these mountains are certainly more unique than the standard DoR one.

Why didn't you use all of the four SD3 sand tiles on the DoR version? icon_shrug.gif

I gotta go with the first one here, if only because the second strays too far from Zelda for me. It all depends on the effect your going for. Although, on the issue of the first looking too desertey, that's easily fixed with a few pine trees, mabe some gravel here or there.

I like NoeL's, but it doesn't fit in Zelda style.

It was hard for me to make it look right. The sand mountain borders use the "plain" SD3 tile, so the screen is already dominated by that one. Adding the others just didn't look right. I was able to use all of them on NoEl's mountains because every single mountain combo is on layer 1.
