I just looked at this on my Desktop for the first time- crap, my shot looks crappy. I don't know why it looks different on this one- but it's probably what some of you guys see. If it looks practically black with Darkness, highlight the shot and you will see what I see on my Laptop with Vista.

What makes this change between computers? It looks much better on the Laptop.

Well, it saddens me is that every single person, excluding one, that had to say some "constructive criticism" said that it was too confusing... what was too confusing? Tell me and I can fix it. This same thing happened in my first SotW that I won when everyone said "too dark"... the only person that provided anything that wasn't "too confusing" was TriMaster, which I'm happy for that at least.

If it's like, the elevation, I can attempt to fix that.

Comparing the two:



I was going to suggest that you change the palette a bit but you did that.
The water is extremely confusing, I didn't know what I was looking at, at first.
You shouldn't make it transparent.

There are other things I don't like about it, the tiles in particular but that's your theme in this quest.

Oh, so the water is confusing? I ought to post the shot animated next time, or one with no water It's so much easier to see that it's water once you see it animated.

And no, I didn't change the palette between those two shots, the first is just a JPEG, so the quality was lost.

To be honest, I did not even know that was water until you guys pointed it out- I thought it was a blurry, darker path. (I know I could've known it was water if I looked harder...) So try to make that more blue and not as blending.

I voted for LiH. I really liked Nuvo's as well, but I never really had any experience with Metroid except for SSB. So I just felt I should vote for LiH.

Well, there's also rain, but it would have to be animated to see that too. Rain = Gray Skies. Gray Skies = Gray Water.

So... that's all I'm going to have to say for now... I'll make a video later, to show the animated water and rain... so it can be cleared up for everyone.

You're right, gray skies do equal gray water, but until you said that I didn't notice the rain either. ^_^ You have to make the water stand out more. I, looking at the shot, just thought the "River" was a bit of a tunnel under a footbridge.

The only thing I can say to you Nuvo, is make the water seem murkier.

I can hardly see the rain either. There's only one spot where it's visible.

I liked LostInHyrule's shot because of the trees, but it's too dark.

Nuvo's was too blocky, and the water was hard to make out-as others have pointed out already.
As for ZeeLiam, If you're going to use the classic set,next time please try to wow us and don't submit a seemingly random shot tht anyone can make. Sorry if it sounds harsh-I'm not one to judge, as I haven't tried out fot SoTW/M before. I'm not trying to flame you-I'm just voicing my opinion. I'm no authority on SoTW/M, so don't take it personally.
