Hello everyone! We have quite a few things to sorta announce. Most of these things are a little delayed, so I do apologize for the lateness in responding.

DCEnygma Has Been Promoted to Administrator
A while back DCEnygma rejoined the staff as a global moderator. Due to the exceptional amount of effort he put in trying to take care of things and help out, the admins decided to promote DCEnygma to the position of Administrator. This was really well deserved. Congrats, DCEnygma!

The Expo Forum Has Been Opened
As I mentioned before, I have been working on a system for the site for contests to use for the expo, but unfortunately, the changes weren’t able to be completed for this expo. Due to this, we’re using the old method for expo. To submit, simply make a post in the expo forum. Just go ahead and make the topic and attach any images and downloads you want.

Here are some typical questions:

1. What is allowed in the expo?
Any quest project that is not finished can be submitted to the expo.

2. What format/layout do expo topics have to be in?
Pretty much any format is acceptable! Part of the expo is coming up with a format that works best to advertise and push your quest.

3. What will be hosted?
Up to 10 screenshots will be hosted, and a demo will be hosted up to 20mb. Everything else will have to be hosted by the submitter.

As a reminder, all submissions are due January 8th and the expo opens on January 12th.

Other Misc. Changes and Notes

• Bans and probations are now listed in this topic rather than topics being created for each ban/probation.
• The drop box for Mature Discussion has been removed. If you wish to request access to Mature Discussion, please use the regular Staff Dropbox.
• The PureZC Events forum has been changed to allow for any contests. View this topic for more info.
• When editing your signature, hidden tags and quotes will unfortunately use more lines than initially apparent. This can cause signatures that seem to be under the line requirement to not be accepted.
• As a reminder, Hosted Quest Project Forums will be removed January 1st.
• As a trial, members can no change their own display names once every 6 months.

Nope. Just quests can be in the expo. We used to allow other submissions, but due to them being in such low numbers, it was opted to only allow quests so that they could be the main focus.

Congratulations, DCEnygma.  Though I haven't been around to verify it, I am sure that you will do well in your new position.

 

On another note, it will be interesting to see how the ability to change display-names goes.  I remember how honestly terrified of rejection I was the first time that I requested a change of username.  Now that feels silly.  It will be interesting to see where people take their names without that looming presence of needing to justify and submit a name-change.  It will probably not be too different, honestly, but interesting regardless.
