@Anthus: Why not use a fairy, or rip some PMD player sprites?

Most of the PMD player sprites are larger than 16x16 pixels.
I used a Pokemon in my entry, but the pokemon is bigger than 16x16 in PMD and I had to resprite the pokemon from scratch.
You would have better luck going through the loose tile database at this point.
