The headline almost explains everything.

I just think it would be nice, if there was a Quest Script Option, that allows to instantly update the active subscreen Application (on every frame) if writing to "DMapData->ActiveSubscreen".
...without warping or scrolling to reinitiate the actual screen.

It would be amazing, if this was possible.

Thanks :)

Not until rewrite, which would take 10 years minimum.

....Aaaaargh....

edit:
TEN YEARS MINIMUM...?
...I guess we'd need a TIMELORD!

Wot? No that would absolutely be possible in the present src.  I never considered it but it could be done wth minimal fuss by running a different script ID: I have no cluh why anything related to src rewrites entered this conversation, but a rewrite is absolutely at least ten years away from even Beta status, which is why I had zero interest in making one back in 2016 to date.

It may need two commands (write dmapdata and refresh the subscr) or it may work with a simple adaptation and need little new code.Either way I expect that it would be trivial. Changing a scripted subscr differs from a normal passive subscr; but the latter merely needs a tad more work to accomplish: Writing to that dapdata var could simply reload the subscr and be done.

Pacing bets on future versions that are purely theoretical and imaginary is not a solution to anything, IMO.

I'd wrap this in the command to change dmapdata values and it'd probably be a 20 minute project to accomplish :/

It would need a ZS Command Rule as to not brick prior quests, but other than that: easy-peasy
