Forward:
So what was DDM (or DotM) anyway? Well, like Map, and Enemy of the month, it was a monthly contest wherein people play through a single dungeon taken from any point in any quest you are working on, at any time.

Description: This is the first fully 3D ZC game. You should play it cause it will be sweet. Download Link: https;\\www.whatever/hoopla.blahb14h=%stupid//what.zip
All fields are required.
The playable quest is to only have access the dungeon, and no other areas. Outdoor areas connecting two or more parts of the same dungeon is fine though. You can also optionally have one Overworld screen with the entrance to your dungeon. This is not a requirement.
Your entry can be from any project you've ever had and does not have to be made in a month. It can also be something completely new, or created just for the contest. As long as it is a dungeon you made, it's good to go.
There must be a defined end, goal, or exit. A boss is not required, but people will likely expect it.
Side-scrolling dungeons are allowed. If you are making a non-Zelda quest, "dungeon like" areas can be submitted too as long as the above applies.
Scripted entries are allowed. You may use scripted enemies, items, puzzles, anything really, as long as they stick to the other guidelines here.
Dungeons must be complete; no demos, or "in the editor" entries, please.
Dungeons can use any of Link's items (including scripted ones). Just make sure to set Link up in "Quest-> Init. Data" with all the stuff he will need to complete the dungeon. You can also have items found in the dungeon. There's really no limit to this so long as other rules apply.
Users arenot allowed to submit maps to promote their dungeons. My reasoning for this is, mostly cause we already have Map of The Month, and I feel like people would be less likely to download, and play these, and might make a quick assessment based on the map alone. It may look good, but the point of this contest is how it plays.
You must upload at least one screenshot. You may also optionally upload a video, if you'd like.
Please only submit .qst, or .zipfiles. Do not include screenshots in the package. Upload these and send me links, or images in the PM. You can include custom music, sounds, scripts, documentation, and all that, as long as it is in one downloadable package for the player's convenience.
If there are not enough entries to start when the previous contest ends, the next contest will start onwhichever day of the month it is when we get 3 entries, and continue till that date in the next month.
It is highly encouraged that you at least try to play all entries before voting.
The contest will not be in this thread. This is just an announcement. A new thread, with the contest will be started each month.
I have a gameplay mechanic I've been meaning to try out, and making a single dungeon for it sounds like a nice start. However, I'm not sure if a radically different gameplay would be appropriate.
I don't see why not I suppose I should also mention that side-scrolling dungeons are also allowed. As long as your dungeon fits in with the rest of the criteria, it doesn't matter how script heavy it is. Everyone has the same rules, so the only difference is skill and creativity of the members who enter.
Edited the first post to reflect this. Edited the order of the guidelines to make it more fluid.
I am also thinking about maybe having multiple categories to vote for similar to other contests. I would like to do this to make the voting more interesting. Any ideas for voting categories? So far, I'm thinking of "Best use of a dungeon theme (if applicable)", "Best use of enemies", "Most atmospheric", and "Most fun", but I'd love to hear some ideas. This is not final, and currently, it is just going to be a "who has the best, most 1337 dungeon?" poll
Sorry to bump yet again, but I just wanted to say we have enough entries to start! The contest will go live on Tuesday, March 1st, 2016. I work on that day, from 10a to 8p, so I will get it up after work. That means at about approximately 8:45-9:15 PM EST. This gives those last minute stragglers an extra half day or so to get their entries in
Looking forward to this one, guys. This should be cool.
On another note, there are no categories this time around. It will be a straightforward "which is best" type contest like SotW/M. We might try themes and categories in the future if this takes off, and we get some good ideas.
This is a really cool idea! I wish I saw it sooner. I can't wait to see the entries! If I can, I'll try to work on a dungeon really fast, or try one for the next month. I really love this idea, as there's no huge commitment to a big quest!
Thanks for the enthusiasm guys, I was starting to think no one was going to show up lol. We have more than enough entries to start but more are obviously welcome! Thanks for making this a good turnout for out first contest.
The dungeon can be from any project you have, old or new. You can make a new dungeon, or use an old one from anything you've ever done.
Also, would anyone with the time be willing to make a user bar, and/ or banner for this? I suck at making banners and have like no Photoshop skills whatsoever lol
