Seriously guys? 14 votes for geoffrey when I'm pretty sure my map is just as good.
Don't you all think that's a little unfairly biased, just voting for him because he using PrinceMSC's tiles?
I should at least have half of those votes instead due to simple artistic merit and the fact I took my time to make
the map look good and did not need to resort to using PrinceMSC's tiles to do so. A Map should be solely judged by it's artistic merit
not by whether or not a certain artist's tiles were used.

Your palette is bland. Your giant trees looks like they cut away to nothing. Speaking of giant trees, there are too many.

Your map is unfinished. Full maps win more votes than maps with screens missing.

I also see poor use of tiles in some parts, you have leaves tiles that literally take up one corner of a screen, but doesn't transition into the other screens, literally making it a square of leaves. Some of these large trees block the players field of view in a very bad way and the map just generally feels artificial.

Geoffrey's map is nearly flawless and you're wondering why he's getting more votes? Oh, I dunno, a map that's almost literally flawless vs your map that has plenty of flaws.

Awh gee, what a difficult choice to make.

Sorry about being overly blunt but I feel this is a poor response towards people's votes in a contest.

Voted for Noel. Guess that means I voted Geoffrey. ;)

While I think in general FS takes ZC a bit too serious, I doubt that this is simply a matter of being a bad loser at the contest. While we have quite a few great questmakers, these rather stick to their favorites (DoR, EZGBZ, Instrumentally, FYS, Koten and Classic of course) or make their own tileset. I would guess that the latter even overweights the former. Now we have quite a few more working tilesets in the database, including some especially good ones from SF. I assume that the not too well organized database doesn't help, but I barely see anything from FS' submitted tilesets.

I especially remember how for years people want an alltp tileset and FS made something close to it that barely got reactions. I admit that especially palette-wise I am not a big fan of these tilesets myself (like I also am not a big fan if the original alltp regarding the visuals) and I kind of understand how frustrating it must be to put lots of work into a tileset only to see it sitting around while everyone screams in excitement someone shows new stuff, as unfinished as it might be.

[Edit] gave the maps a 2nd look and while I still like Geoffrey's map more as a map, for playing I think I would prefer FS's. I mean Geoffrey's has a strong WW- feeling with nostalgia and I can nearly see how the grass is moved by the wind or how the shadows react to the sun/time of day. Of course the reality wouldn't look as fluid/vivid/animated and if I had to go from screen to screen with this tileset I imagine that the outstanding tiles would made me fed up with them. Not to mention that the somewhat simple design with the sea and the heaven around and the different perspective is a lot more enjoyable in WW.

FS's on the other side while the dark and green is a bit much to look at the map as a whole, in general I like it a lot and think it would be lots of fun to explore. I also like the solution for the big trees fading away! Only complaint is that I hate it if plant green is used for rock-elements and similar stuff. The entrance from the LA swamp Lvl2 has some elements that resemble leaves, but it doesn't look like a plant. And I really dislike green Armos statues.
