In 2.50.2 Vires that do not split on hit, and do not die in one hit can permanently freeze. There's also a spawning issue with splitting Vires.

 

This video showcases the issues:

 

 

As an answer, a fix was recently made in 2.55 and 2.53. The freeze issue is fixed, but splitting Vires are worse off. Video:

I'm not sure why you re-reported this in full?

 

The spawning issue may exist: I need to verify that, but I fixed the freezing bug. 

 

Is that somehow still happening for you?

What was the last version of ZC in which vires worked properly, per NES behaviour? Was it 2.10?

 

I believe that I've isolated, and fixed this issue. Whether vire knockback behaviour is correct, is hard to say, but at least it seems to be better now. I'll put up 2.53b26 soon--perhaps tomorrow, and allow everyone to validate it.

They're fixed in both versions now.

 

The only issue that remains is splitting vires snapping back to their position after knocked back vertically, but that's minor.

Can you post a short video of that? I thought that I fixed that kkind of thing, too.

 

...or...do you mean tribbles?

Ehrm.... Did you verify that they still work properly if not set to split on hit?

 

They should but IDR at what point in the five hours that I spent testing vires, that I verified that behaviour.

Here's a fix, in 2.53 (only), that I believe should correct the spawn points of keese that split off of them.
