Hey there, weird request, but I was wondering if anyone knew some good songs that have Day and Night versions.  For example, we know that on Breath of the Wild and other Zelda games, they have versions of a Day Theme and then a Night Theme.   I wanted to know if there was anything out there, that you are a fan of that has the same type of style, having a day and night version.  It doesn't have to be in any sort of area, I am looking for a wide variety of types.  :)

Most overworld themes from both Xenoblade and Xenoblade X have day and night versions. You could check those out.

Besides Zelda, hmmm. There's day and night tracks in Pokemon gen 2, and it's not quite the same, but a lot of Rare N64 games have "normal" and "inside" versions which kinda functions the same.

I seem to remember that World of Warcraft has a bunch of day and night themes for most of its areas. I might be mistaken, though. Hm.

If you have a decent melody-maker--I used to use Melody Assistant X--it may prove worthwhile to open the MIDI files that you are using, and slightly adjust the instruments, and the tempo.

A slight tempo drop, with a shift-in of piano/violin can turn a cheery daytime score, into an appropriate 'night/rain' version. ;)

This might sound very obvious, and I'm basically quoting/extending on what Anthus said, but Rare (Banjo, DK etc) had a few interesting melodic variations of songs back in the day.  Their composers were very adept at changing a given theme into something else that sounded like it.  Very nostalgic songs now because of that.  Notable example: Fungi Forest from DK64 had a literal day/night theme of the same level.  Other than that, I haven't really played many non-Zelda games that would have that feel, lol.
